Key Accountabilities:
  • Provide pipeline engineering expertise as the ROO Pipeline Engineer to manage the integrity of the ROO pipeline network.
  • Ensure pragmatic solutions are identified and implemented to manage risk, production efficiency, defect elimination and standardisation, to deliver safe, reliable and compliant operations.
  • Accountable to deliver safe, reliable maintenance aligned with ROO’s Values
  • Maintain the asset database and associated data for ROO pipelines
  • Maintain the pipeline risk assessment for ROO ensuring that the identified threats reflect current operations and use this to define, implement and manage regional pipeline threat mitigation programs across IM and other functions.
  • Prepare, review and endorse pipeline-related metrics (e.g. pipeline integrity dashboard and LOPC data) and intervene where appropriate.
  • Integrate with associated disciplines to ensure adequate equipment care, including maintenance & engineering, corrosion, flow assurance, production chemistry, pressure systems integrity, and structural & civil engineering.
  • Provide pipeline engineering support to Fitness for Service barrier evaluations and incident investigations.
  • Record relevant learning in shared learning systems, incorporate into local activities, specifications/practices/procedures and escalate high priority lessons.
  • Technical support to the management of operation’s contractors (e.g. new flowline construction contractors, production chemistry / corrosion inhibition).

Criteria & Qualifications:
Minimum educational / certification requirements:
  • Degree qualified or international equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • Professional accreditation, such as Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer
  •  Deep technical expertise in pipeline engineering discipline with excellent knowledge related to oil transportation and processing facilities – flowlines, manifolds and trunklines.
  • Technical expertise in several areas related to the discipline applied to Operations. These include risk assessment, risk-based inspection, pipeline engineering assessments, fitness for service, failure investigation, pipeline inspection and monitoring, corrosion and pipeline repair.
  • Proven ability in practical application of engineering standards and practices for pipeline engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of non-destructive inspection testing techniques, an appreciation of specialist NDT techniques and detailed understanding of materials and corrosion mechanisms associated with pipelines.

Minimum experience requirements:
  • 10 Years industry experience in the field of pipeline engineering / design / construction / operation / inspection & maintenance of which 5 years should be in a senior pipeline integrity position.
