Protection Technical Specialist



Description of Duties



The Protection Technical Expert will have significant experience in the field of women’s empowerment, protection/child protection and GBV programming, in order to provide technical support and lead iMMAP Inc’s protection programming in Iraq.

Key Responsibilities include;



Design of data collection tools to support needs assessment, research, monitoring and evaluation of protection programming. Design and delivery protection training packages for iMMAP Inc staff, partners and beneficiaries. Design and conduct workshops with project partners and beneficiaries to address protection concerns, share best practices, lessons learned, etc. In coordination with iMMAP Inc data analysts, undertake relevant data analyses to support research and project reporting. Draft reports, research papers and evaluations related to protection programming. Develop MEAL frameworks to support monitoring and evaluation of protection/child protection programming. Lead development of protection-focused information, communication and education material. Ensure that iMMAP protection/child protection programming adheres to relevant standards, including Do No Harm Framework, Minimum Inter-Agency Standards for Protection Mainstreaming, Minimum Inter-Agency Standards for Child Protection, etc. Undertake quality checks through field visits to targeted areas to ensure protection principles and standards are adhered to across all protection-related activities. Review and operationalize feedback and accountability mechanisms across all protection programs. Lead recruitment of technical staff. Support technical team in the design of any platforms and information management tools to support monitoring and disemmination of protection-related information Represent iMMAP Inc in relevant consultations and meetings.

Requirements



Education



Bachelors or master's degree in international development, social sciences, social work, human rights, international law, gender studies or other relevant discipline.

Experience



Minimum of 6 years’ experience in technical/programme management experience in women's empowerment, protection/child protection and GBV programming in challenging contexts.
Similar experience in a technical advisory role is desirable. Design and implementation of project workplans to ensure effective execution of protection projects. Development and delivery of protection training packages to a variety of stakeholders. Design of data collection tools and MEAL frameworks Excellent knowledge of policies, international standards, key principles and legislation related to protectio/child protection, women's empowerment and gender equality. Coordinating with donors, international and national organizations and CSOs to support implementation of protection programming.

Skills



Demonstates good analytical skills to analyse data and synthesise information to undertake research and evaluation.
Technical writing skills including developing reports, evaluations and research papers. Excellent inter-personal skills. Strong communication skills to lead meetings, trainings and workshops. Ability to develop and carry out work plans and solve problems independently. Ability to perform well on tight deadlines, with a flexible attitude. Ability to recruit, develop and lead teams.

Languages



Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking) is essential.
Arabic language skills are highly desirable.
