We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Procurement Specialist to lead procurement and contracting activities in support of operations in Basra. The ideal candidate will deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions that ensure safety, compliance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability across procurement categories. The role involves supplier engagement, contract negotiations, strategic sourcing, performance management, and coaching local teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead contracting and procurement to support operations delivery plans.
- Ensure sourcing governance, contract compliance, and system implementation.
- Drive supplier performance and manage vendor relationships per SLAs.
- Develop and implement category strategies and cost optimization initiatives.
- Coach and support local procurement team capabilities and ensure HSE and Code of Conduct adherence.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 8+ years’ experience in category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier management.
- Familiarity with regional (Middle East) operations and requirements.
- Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in PSCM systems such as SAP/Maximo and Ariba.
- CIPS or CPM certification is a plus.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment under pressure and tight deadlines.
