Job purpose

Define piping design bases, codes, standards, and deliverables to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
Single point of contact for piping deliverables and activities related to piping materials.
Interface with client, vendor, and other stakeholders for successful execution of the project.
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (process, mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation) and vendors to ensure integrated piping systems.
Mentor engineers, drive quality, and ensure schedule adherence for piping deliverables across project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review piping design basis, piping material specifications, datasheets, and technical bid evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and project-specific requirements.
• Develop standard deliverables, various datasheets, and requisition packages related to piping.
• Experience in non-metallic piping (GRE / HDPE) procurement and specifications.
• Provide in-depth technical support for material selection involving metallic and non-metallic piping systems.
• Participate in material selection and corrosion review sessions to ensure suitable materials for service conditions.
• Review and approve technical deliverables (isometrics, P&IDs, BOMs, MOC/Change Notes, design change requests, technical queries).
• Demonstrated knowledge of material tracking throughout the project cycle.
• Understand the MOC process and employ effective change management throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Contribute to lessons learnt from the project.
• Report to department manager/lead engineer for the project.

Experience

• 12+ years of experience in concept, FEED and detail engineering and EPCM experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Experience with Middle East clients like ADNOC, BP, BOC, PDO, Total Energies & Qatar Energies is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with onshore and offshore facilities and carried out greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Experience working with multicultural project teams across various project execution centers.
• Familiarity with international piping codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASTM, API, and NACE MR0175/ISO 15156.

Qualifications

• Master or bachelor of engineering in a related field.
• Professional membership or relevant certifications (e.g., PE/Chartered Engineer) are a plus.
• Certification related to piping design or stress analysis is advantageous.

Technical skills

• Strong background in piping design, engineering, stress analysis, and support design.
• Proficiency with piping design software and calculation tools (e.g., CAESAR, AutoPIPE and 3D modeling tools).
• Technical experience to prepare manhours estimation for different types of piping activities and deliverables of different phases of the project like select phase, FEED and execution.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, regulations and practices applicable to the design and construction of various facilities.
• Hands-on knowledge of codes and standards relevant to piping.
• Experience with high-pressure piping, thermal insulation, coatings, and corrosion considerations.
• Diverse working experience in project management, conceptual, FEED and detailed design, and construction.
• Knowledge of interdisciplinary work processes, interfaces, and deliverables.
• Responsible for the training and development of engineers in his/her team.
• Adherence to company processes and procedures and handle internal and external project audits.
• Proven experience in vendor qualification, technical bid evaluation, and factory audits.
