The FP&A Manager leads financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting for the organization. Beyond routine reporting, a highly qualified FP&A Manager acts as a strategic partner to senior leadership, translating complex financial data into clear insights, challenging assumptions, and shaping decisions on investment, growth, and resource allocation. This role combines strong technical and analytical capability with the business judgment and influence needed to drive performance across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts across departments and business units, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and growth targets
- Own the development of 3–5 year long-range financial plans in coordination with executive leadership
- Build and maintain advanced financial models (DCF, NPV, IRR, sensitivity and scenario analysis) to evaluate strategic initiatives, capital investments, and new business opportunities
- Conduct competitive and industry benchmarking to inform pricing, margin, and growth strategy
- Support M&A activity, due diligence, and integration planning where applicable
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, board decks, and investor materials for senior management and the board
- Analyze actual results versus budget and forecast, identifying root causes of variances and recommending corrective action
- Design and maintain KPI dashboards and scorecards that give leadership real-time visibility into financial and operational performance
- Review, challenge, and consolidate departmental budget submissions, ensuring targets are realistic, defensible, and aligned with strategic priorities
- Lead cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, and financial risk assessment
- Act as a trusted advisor to department heads and senior management, translating financial data into actionable business insight
- Partner with operational and commercial teams to build business cases and ROI analysis for new projects, capital investments, and expansion plans
- Lead cost control and profitability improvement initiatives, identifying efficiency opportunities across the business
- Communicate complex financial concepts clearly and persuasively to non-financial stakeholders, including executive committees and boards
- Drive continuous improvement of FP&A tools, templates, and processes, including automation of reporting through ERP and BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Power Query)
- Champion the adoption of new systems and technologies that improve forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of financial analysts, building technical capability and succession depth
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and relevant accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and investors as needed to support accurate and timely financial disclosures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA a plus
- Professional qualification preferred (such as ACCA, CFA, or CPA)
- 5–8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis, with a track record of increasing scope and responsibility
- Demonstrated experience advising senior leadership and presenting to executive committees or boards
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and IFRS/GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modeling capability, including scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and BI/reporting tools (such as Power BI or Tableau)
- Prior experience managing or mentoring a team is highly valued
