The Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing mechanical equipment, machinery, and production systems within the farm. The position ensures that all machinery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while minimizing equipment downtime and supporting continuous production.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on factory machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Inspect machines regularly to identify mechanical problems, wear, leaks, or potential failures.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and determine the appropriate repair or replacement requirements.
• Repair, dismantle, assemble, and replace mechanical components such as bearings, belts, chains, gears, shafts, pumps, valves, and couplings.
• Carry out routine lubrication, alignment, adjustment, and calibration of mechanical equipment.
• Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and production maintenance requests.
• Assist in the installation, commissioning, and relocation of machinery and production equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance according to established schedules.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, technical specifications, and maintenance instructions.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
• Work closely with production operators to identify equipment issues and minimize production interruptions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, spare parts, and equipment failures.
• Identify recurring mechanical problems and recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability.
• Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in accordance with factory safety procedures and applicable standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance workshop and work area.
• Assist with maintaining adequate stocks of mechanical spare parts and maintenance materials.
• Follow lockout/tagout and other applicable safety procedures before working on machinery.
• Support the Maintenance Supervisor and Engineering team with maintenance projects and equipment improvements.
• Perform other duties related to mechanical maintenance as assigned by management.
