Under supervision of the Welder, Lead, the Welder w elds metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, plant equipment, mobile homes, motors and generators, according to layouts, blueprints or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Welds metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes, performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases size of metal parts, positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. Qualifications + Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. + High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma. + A valid US driver’s license is required, and able to obtain Local Driver’s License. + Must have valid US Passport. + Must be US citizen. + Experience: + Minimum of three (3) years of experience in various types of welding and the use of welding tools or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Licenses/Certifications: Must be a certified welder. + Skills: + Must be able to pass & maintain AWS Welding Code Certifications as required. + Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. + Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork. + Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking military officers. + Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion. + Intermediate ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written. + Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications. + High-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accurately. + Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets reports and documents. + Working Conditions: + Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. + Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). + Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. + Physical Requirements: + Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. + Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. + Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
