Cash for Work Project- Construction Engineers 4 positions

CDiwan Company for Contracting, General Trade and Investment currently implements Cash for Work project in Mosul, Iraq. The Company was established in 1992 to work on different construction projects in Mosul.

The project aims at supporting of returnees, rehabilitating the community infrastructures with cash for work activities and promoting the social cohesion in the Nineveh Governorate, with a focus on West Mosul.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Conduct field assessments and measurement surveys of infrastructures that is going to be rehabilitated or constructed in close laboration with the Project Coordinators;

·         Technical assessment, and evaluation of scope of work;

·         Elaboration of detailed Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and specifications for tools and materials needed to execute planned works;

·         Estimate requirements for tools, material and machines for CfW schemes on a monthly (or if required bi-monthly basis) including delivery schedule;

·         Estimate number of workers (skilled and unskilled) needed to execute the works in a specified timeframe;

·         Participate in community meetings in close coordination with the project Coordinators to introduce the project and its objectives as well as ion criteria;

·         Set up CfW teams and provide specific information and instructions (including safety) on how to execute works;

·         Monitor construction works and ensure that works are executed according to the plan.

·         Prepare written requests to the Logistics Officer regarding procurement and supply for CfW activities (tools, materials, machines) and provide delivery schedule;

·         Elaborate weekly and monthly work plans for CfW activities together with the Project Coordinators;

·         Provide monthly and if requested bi-monthly progress reports to the Project Manager in collaboration with the M&E Officer;

·         Ensure that project documentation and filing is conducted according to donor requirements as well as the instruction from the Project Manager.

Qualifications:

·         University degree in civil/environment/water stations engineering

·         Minimum two (2) years of experience in a relevant position;

·         Fluency in English is required ;

·         Able to work with MS-Office, E-mail, internet and AutoCAD;

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and deal successfully in multi-cultural environment;

·         Committed, honest and eager to learn.
