Construction Project Manager

A Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a construction project, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion. They work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage resources and teams.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  2. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure project specifications and requirements are met.
  3. Manage construction teams, including contractors and subcontractors, to ensure work is completed according to schedule and quality standards.
  4. Monitor and control project costs, including tracking expenses and managing change orders.
  5. Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  6. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or issues that arise during the project.
  7. Prepare and present progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
  8. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  9. Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, and drawings.
  10. Supervise project closeout activities, including final inspections and punch lists.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Minimum of 12 years of experience in civil construction industry.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project/Program Management or Engineering.
  3. Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Project Manager in the industry.
  4. Project Manager on at least one EPC project with a value of $30 million USD or more.
  5. Experience in the Middle East, especially Iraq is desirable.
  6. Fluent in English with strong written and oral communication skills in English as well.
  7. Proven track record of successfully completing construction projects on time and within budget.
  8. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.
  9. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  10. Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  11. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  12. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  13. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  14. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.


Skills

  • Proven experience as construction project managerIn-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field
  • PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage
