The Water Services Manager is responsible for managing and supervising all water purification functions at multiple locations within Iraq. Area of responsibility includes ensuring water quality regulatory compliance and consumer satisfaction through improved source water quality, optimizing existing treatment and distribution processes, and development of future treatment options. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. + This position manages all activities related to water quality regulatory compliance + Examines source water quality and investigates proposed changes in the watersheds to improve the quality of the raw water entering the treatment plants + Sets operational criteria for both near-term operations and long-term planning to ensure regulatory compliance. + Provides process design criteria when a facility is in the planning stages to ensure water quality goals are achieved + Examines water regulations and emerging water quality issues to determine options to address these concerns. + Develops innovative ways to optimize processes (combined with operational reality) with the goal of even greater reliability and cost effectiveness in operations. + Performs Job Duties as assigned. Qualifications + Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Use the guide below to determine education and experience for this position. + High School Graduate or equivalent required. + Preferred Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent field experience is strongly preferred. + Licenses/Certifications: + Shall possess a minimum of a Class B water treatment plant operator (Level 3) certification or equivalent. + Experience: + Twelve (12) years related experience in in water purification and treatment operations with a minimum of seven years' experience in municipal water treatment, municipal water distribution, and/or operation of well systems, water treatment operation, and repair in an overseas location. + Work experience on Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Units (ROWPU) is required. + Must have knowledge of all principles and processes involved in the repair, maintenance, installation, and modernization of water treatment for buildings and grounds at an overseas facility. + Minimum five years supervisory experience in the management of personnel. + Experience with municipal Water Treatment, as well as some knowledge of Water Distribution systems is a required. + Previous experience in a contingency environment is a plus. + Supervisory Responsibilities: + Manages a team of Water Treatment professionals at multiple locations. + Skills: + Excellent computer, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills required. + Requires excellent organizational skills; with the ability to work under fast paced and adverse conditions. + Working Conditions: + Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). + Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. + Physical Requirements: + Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
