Senior Welding Inspector

  • Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections of welds in accordance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API)
  • Review and approve welding procedures (WPS) and qualifications (WPQ) for compliance with project specifications and industry standards
  • Verify welder qualifications and ensure proper use of welding equipment and consumables
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive inspection reports, documenting findings and recommendations
  • Identify and report welding discrepancies and non-conformances
  • Work with welders and supervisors to identify and address potential quality issues
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest welding technologies, codes, and standards
  • May participate in developing and implementing quality control programs for welding activities
  • Collaborate with engineers and other QA personnel to ensure project quality objectives are met
  • May provide technical guidance and training to less experienced inspectors

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Welding, Mechanical, or related field) preferred, or equivalent experience in a welding inspection roleMinimum 5+ years of experience in welding inspection, preferably in a similar industryCertified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or equivalent experience strongly preferredFamiliarity with various NDT methods (e.g., Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Visual Testing (VT))Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API)Excellent understanding of welding processes, materials, and equipmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent attention to detail and strong commitment to quality and safety
