Position Purpose


The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations team of 4-8 staff, including imports, exports, customs brokerage, and domestic services. This role ensures that all procedures and processes are effectively implemented, compliance is maintained, and business growth is supported through excellent customer service and strategic management.


Key Responsibilities:


Operations Management:



  • Oversee and supervise operations teams and vendors for all aspects of our shipments process.  Including imports, exports, customs brokerage, and domestic services.

  • Ensure that all established procedures and processes for the company are understood and implemented within the station.

  • Maintain compliance with corporate policies and procedures, as well as local rules and regulations.

  • Follow new changes to rules and on the ground challenges and suggest changes to processes.


Compliance and Reporting:



  • Understand and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures, local rules, and regulations for the country.

  • Send regular updates on import/export policies and procedures, and local rules and regulations to BO & HQ support teams and SMT.

  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within the department.

  • Ensure proper financial controls are in place and followed.


Asset Management:



  • Ensure proper tracking and maintenance of company assets.

  • Ensure that the station facilities provide a clean, professional, and safe working environment for all employees in accordance with Company HSE Policy.


Staff Management:



  • Recruit, interview, select, train, and develop staff with the right technical and personal abilities to meet the company's objectives.

  • Conduct continuous reviews and assessments of in-country vendors, negotiate service terms, and pricing levels. Work with key vendors on developing unique and value-added services solutions.

  • Ensure proper staff, facilities/warehousing, uniforms, vehicles, and services are in place to execute work effectively.


Business Development:



  • Support the company's efforts towards business development, sales, marketing, and new account development within the country to ensure maximum revenue generation.

Skills


  • 5-10  years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or a related industry.

  • Previous management experience is preferred.


Skills:



  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Medium to Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations and financial controls.
