Position Summary:
The responsibility of the Production Engineer is to work closely with the Senior Production Engineers to ensure the efficient and continued management of the field oil production ensuring the field processes are optimized in a safe and profitable manner.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The Production Engineer (PE) works in conjunction with the other engineers (subsurface, facilities, drilling & production department) to develop production plans. He will analyse the well forecast data to determine appropriate methods and technologies to maximize oil recovery and collaborate with field personnel to analyse well/field performance and advise on production optimization & debottlenecking. The PE works to improve the efficiency of oil production by the implementation of advanced monitoring systems to detect production problems. He will support production teams for operations schedule optimization, capacity enhancement, production planning and downtime optimization. The PE assesses the impact of identified system constraints, monitors and troubleshoots facility balance at field / site / well level. The PE prepares presentations for management and engineering meetings including the preparation of graphs & reports. The PE can work alongside the Maintenance and Operations Team to scope and deliver small facility modifications The PE works closely with the maintenance teams for preventive maintenance and repair of production equipment. The PE assesses the risks associated with continued operations and implements prevention and management measures to minimize possible accidents, leaks or spills. He works in compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations. Interacts with users and colleagues in a polite and efficient manner to meet requirements of role.

Supervisory Responsibility
The Production Engineer will at time have to develop and execute projects with the support of the Senior Production Engineers. This will require strong hands-on control of vendors and 3rd party company interactions during the inception phase and execution phase in the field.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a recognized university in petroleum / chemical / mechanical / other relevant engineering disciplines. Candidates ideally should have 5 years’ experience in oil and gas production plus experience in similar role preferably with a major oil & gas company. Effective communication (verbal/written), organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Technical knowledge in petroleum engineering including fluid mechanics. Knowledge of new technologies and ability to assess their relevance and application in optimizing oil production. Project management skills to plan, organize and oversee drilling and production operations. Problem solving skills to analyse and resolve operational issues related to oil production. Knowledge of environmental, safety and health regulations related to the petroleum industry. Communication skills to interact effectively with field teams, other engineers, managers and regulators. Ability to adapt to changing field conditions and unforeseen challenges. Ability to work in a team to collaborate with other professionals and coordinate activities. Data analysis skills to interpret geological and engineering data to make informed decisions.
