What we are looking for


NRC Iraq is looking for an Education Project Manager who will be tasked with ensuring implementation of the overall youth and education projects in the south and central area. They will ensure the implementation of activities, through projects team, according to project plans and in line with NRC mandate and donors’ regulations.


The role holder will also be responsible for regular reporting mechanism, team management, budget reviews/ updates and close monitoring/ follow-ups on a day-to-day activities.

The role will have some of the following specific responsibilities:


  • Programme Management.
  • Programme Development.
  • Logistics, Finance, and Human Resource Management.
  • Representation and Coordination.

What you will bring


  • Minimum 3 years of experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Technical Education and Youth expertise.
  • Significant knowledge of the context in Federal Iraq.
  • Experience with needs assessments, project monitoring and evaluation, and programme development.
  • Proven experience working with donor reports, proposals, budget management, and team management.
  • Experience of geographical access negotiation and representation, including with local authorities, I/NGOs, and communities.
  • Good communication skills, with capacity to directly influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal. Arabic language is mandatory.
  • Strong leadership skills and a supportive management style.
  • Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high and diverse workload

What we offer:


  • Note: The role is open to internal NRC staff and applicants must be legally eligible to work in Iraq. We are unable to provide work permits or visa sponsorships for this position. 
  • Duty station: Baghdad
  • Contract: Until Dec 2025. Renewal based on funding and performance.
  • Travel: 40% to Erbil, Ramadi and Tuz.
  • Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC’s Iraq’s national salary scale.
