Drilling Superintendent

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Reports to the drilling manager in HQ.
Manage the inspection, testing and startup of a modern work over rig which has been warm stacked for a year.
Manage the rig up and preparation for well operations, including safety preparations.
Provide daily operational direction and support for the rig and Erbil well teams.
Manage service companies to ensure timely delivery of service and to drive quality and improvement.
Lead any ‘problem solving’ meetings and ensure that time is taken to stop activity and ‘re-group’ with key experts if required.
Ensure that continuous learning in achieved via After Action Reviews and Lessons Learned process.
Drive HSE excellence through daily conversations and monthly HSE themed initiatives. Ensure all incidents are reported, investigated and actioned appropriately.
Attention to detail within all operational programmes.
Comply with Company's Drilling Policies – Land Rigs. This includes well control, safety management and management of change.
Ensure that the team Strictly follows Company's procurement processes.
Requirements:
HND or similar qualification in an engineering-related discipline.
15 yeas of oil & gas experience including ~7 years supervisory positions.
Experienced in supervising inspection and acceptance testing of rigs for well activities.
Experience with workover operations on sour service wells.
Good knowledge of downhole architecture, wellheads, trees and completion equipment.
Fluent in English.
IWCF well control certificate (level 4) for land rigs.
Medical certificate (OGUK).
Previous experience in Kurdistan preferred.
Working Conditions:
Office Based - 5 days a week
