Position Summary: The Teaching Assistant position in Computer Science is housed within the Department of Natural & Applied Sciences, College of Arts & Sciences at AUIB. Reporting to the head of the department, this role involves attending lectures, assisting faculty with course tasks, providing guidance to students during sessions, grading according to rubrics, setting up office hours for student support, and organizing exam schedules. In addition, the assistant will participate in training and meetings. Competencies for this position include a deep understanding of computer science, effective communication skills, teamwork, organizational skills, and the ability to provide constructive feedback to students. This Position reports to the Head of Department of Natural & Applied Sciences. Areas of Accountability: Main Activities: Attend lectures and assist faculty in completing the course tasks and activities Provide guidance and explanation to students during group/ recitation/ tutoring sessions. Assist in grading assignments, quizzes, exams, and projects according to established instructions and rubrics. Set up office hours to meet with students and answer their questions and provide additional support. Assist in organizing and coordinating exams and assignments’ schedules. Participate in teaching assistant training and instructors’ meetings as required.

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a reputable college or university setting Minimum of 2 years of teaching experiance post-secondary in a college or university setting. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): 1. Deep understanding of computer science, including concepts, theories, and applications. 2. Ability to explain clearly and effectively complex computer science concepts to diverse students. 3. Capacity to work closely with faculty and other teaching assistants to foster a team environment. 4. Strong verbal and written skills for effective information delivery and feedback. 5. Competence in managing schedules, coordinating tasks, and efficiently handling administrative duties related to course management. 6. Ability to critically assess students' work in alignment with established grading rubrics and provide constructive feedback.
