Position Summary: The Research Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the planning, implementation, and coordination of research projects within AUIB. This position works closely with faculty, researchers, and administrative staff to ensure the successful execution of research initiatives. The Research Projects Coordinator is responsible for project administration, compliance, and facilitating effective communication among project stakeholders. Areas of Accountability: 1. Project Planning and Coordination: Assist researchers and faculty in the development of research project proposals, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate project kick-off meetings and ensure clear communication of project goals and objectives. Monitor project progress and timelines, and assist in resolving issues and challenges. 2. Collaboration with relevant stakeholders associated with grant management & institutional advancement: Assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals, including budget development and compliance with funding agency guidelines. Monitor grant deadlines and reporting requirements, ensuring timely submission of progress reports. Maintain accurate records of grant applications, awards, and expenditures. 3. Coordination and Recording of Departmental Budget and Financial Management: Manage project budgets, including tracking expenditures and ensuring compliance with university financial policies. Process invoices, reimbursements, and other financial transactions related to research projects. Provide financial reports and projections to project leads and university leadership. 4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that research projects comply with university, government, and external agency regulations and policies. Assist in obtaining necessary permits, approvals, and ethical clearances for research projects. Support the management of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and its protocols. Collaborate alongside the University Research Board (URB) on relevant or research-related projects and initiatives. Active contributor on the following boards, but not limited to: IRB, URB, and the Press Advisory Board. 5. Communication and Reporting: Facilitate communication among project team members, collaborators, and stakeholders. Prepare and distribute regular project status updates and reports to project leaders and funders. Assist in the dissemination of project findings through presentations and publications. 6. Data Management and Record-Keeping: Oversee data management practices, ensuring the secure and organized storage of research data. Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, agreements, and project documentation, both internal & external. Assist in data sharing and archiving as per project requirements

Position Requirements: Minimum Master's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree is a plus Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Connection with various research centers. Competencies: Prior experience in research administration or project coordination from start to finish. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Familiarity with research compliance regulations and ethical considerations. Professional proficiency in English & Arabic.
