PROGRAM SUMMARY:


The Diplomatic Platform Support Services (DiPSS) works in support of the Department of State to provide medical support services. The primary scope of this program is to execute medical support services at the United States Embassy and adjacent facilities in the Middle East.


POSITION SUMMARY: 


The Public Health Manager oversees public health programs, including statistical analysis, health care planning, surveillance systems, and public health improvement and is recognized as an expert particular disciple.


RESPONSIBILITIES: 


  • Monitors and reports incidents of infectious diseases and relationships between diseases and their outcomes.


  • Plans and directs studies to investigate human or animal disease, preventive methods, and treatments for disease and communicates research findings on various types of diseases.


  • Provides expertise in the design, management and evaluation of study protocols, sample selection and analysis.


  • Investigates diseases or parasites to determine cause and risk factors, progress, life cycle, or mode of transmission.


  • Conducts research to develop methodologies, instrumentation and procedures for medical application, analyzing data and presenting findings.


  • Identifies and analyzes public health issues related to foodborne parasitic diseases and their impact on public policies or scientific studies or surveys.


  • Anticipates internal and or external (Industry) business challenges and/or regulatory/ compliance issues; recommends process, product or service improvements.


  • Solves unique and complex problems.


  • Contributes to the development of job family or Group strategy.


  • Mentors and advises project teams to achieve milestones and objectives.


  • Anticipates customer and industry issues; recommends product, process or service improvements.


  • May have formal, but limited, supervision of team members at a Department level to include verification of time cards, oversight of daily tasks/schedules and input into performance appraisals.


  • May have resource responsibility such as staffing levels and budgets.


  • May be the primary customer contact for assigned area of responsibility.


  • Mentors and advises team members on projects with notable risk and complexity; develops the strategy for project execution.


  • Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.


  • Impacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or services; works within general Divisional/Group policies and industry guidelines.


  • Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to influence decisions.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Typically requires 10 to 15 years of relevant experience within the program.


  • In some disciplines, advanced degree may be a requirement to reach this level.


  • May hold a Professional Certification in Program Management.


  • Requires in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within the job family.


  • Has advanced expertise in DOD, Agency, and/or industry standards and engineering requirements, advises colleagues on interpretation of standards within the context of Group’s contract objectives.


  • Regarded as the technical expert in their particular discipline.


  • Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirements.


  • Must be medically fit and willing to travel CONUS and OCONUS


  • Must be able to lift 50lbs


  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current U. S. Driver's License.


  • Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 13 months of remaining validity AND 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining


  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently


  • Candidates must also meet CENTCOM MOD (Fit for Duty) theater requirements.


  • Must currently possess or be able to obtain prior to being hired as is required for this position a U.S. Government (USG) issued Secret security clearance and/or a favorable USG Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT). Must maintain eligibility at the required clearance or certification level for the duration of the task order.
