Job Purpose
The Lead Material is responsible for overseeing all material procurement, management, and logistics activities for the ROO Site Project in Iraq. This role ensures that materials are acquired, managed, and delivered efficiently to support project schedules and objectives while maintaining budgetary constraints. The Lead Material will coordinate closely with project management, engineering, and construction teams, particularly in a Brownfield site environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to source materials effectively for the ROO Site Project.
- Oversee the entire material management process, including purchasing, receiving, inventory management, and distribution to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify material needs and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Conduct regular assessments of material inventory levels and implement policies for efficient inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, safety regulations, and environmental standards related to material usage and procurement.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on material handling and best practices.
- Monitor and report on material expenditures and forecasts, identifying potential issues that may affect project schedules or budgets.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for material management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate in project meetings and present material management updates to stakeholders.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in materials management and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Maximo, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of construction materials, industry standards, and specifications.
- Experience in financial analysis and budgeting related to material procurement.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for material sourcing and management.
- Ability to analyze project documentation and translate material requirements into actionable plans.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 14 years of relevant experience in materials management, preferably in Brownfield projects.
