We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Finance Accountant to join our team in Erbil, Iraq. 

The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and overseeing financial processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the organization’s financial goals. 

This role requires fluency in Arabic, Kurdish, and English, both written and spoken.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily accounting operations and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards.

Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.

Analyze financial performance, highlight variances, and provide clear and actionable recommendations.

Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits.

Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and international financial regulations and company policies.

Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls over financial reporting and accounting procedures.

Collaborate with other departments to prepare budgets and forecasts and provide financial analysis to support decision-making.

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax filing processes.

Supervise and mentor junior finance/accounting staff.

Mandatory Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are preferred.

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory role.

Strong working knowledge of accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Thorough understanding of IFRS and local Iraqi accounting standards.

Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments under tight deadlines.

Language Skills (Mandatory) : Must be able to read, write, and speak Arabic, Kurdish, and English fluently.

Highly Recommended: Exposure to ERP systems, especially Odoo, is highly recommended.
