Bid & Proposal Engineer

  • Prepare, edit, and finalize technical and commercial proposals in response to RFPs and tenders.
  • Ensure proposals comply with client requirements, bid instructions, and submission deadlines.
  • Tailor proposals to align with client expectations, project goals, and company standards.
  • Format, compile, and submit final proposal documents and invoices.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, procurement, and finance teams to gather accurate content and costing.
  • Support post-submission clarifications, negotiations, and feedback reviews with clients.
  • Ensure supply chain processes meet legal, contractual, and company standards.
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure competitive and profitable deals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and identify potential new suppliers.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to align delivery schedules with project requirements.
  • Monitor workshop activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and issues, ensuring reliable and efficient service.
  • Work collaboratively with customers to resolve supply chain challenges and support long-term partnerships.

Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in bidding and proposal writing within the oil and gas industry.
  • Applications lacking this qualification will not be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, petroleum or related discipline)
  • Strong understanding of legal and international requirements for purchasing and supplying goods.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of technical and commercial negotiations.
  • Sound and proven management skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and reporting skills in English.
  • Proactive, problem-solving, and result-oriented attitude.
  • Familiarity with contract types (lump sum, cost-plus, etc.)
  • Knowledge of international standards and codes (e.g., API, ISO) relevant to the field
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, outlook and Word
  • Experience with cost estimation, BOQs, and tendering processes
