Laundry Attendant Lead

The Lead Laundry Attendant is responsible to perform Linen Exchange, Linen issue, and Laundry Operations at MSAB to accommodate all requirements as described in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The Lead Laundry Attendant shall support linen issue during period of heavy troop rotations including transients. Linen Exchange includes but not limited to, all laundry, drying, folding, and all other tasks and responsibilities deemed necessary that are described in the PWS to include receiving for, accounting for, processing, and returning all organizational and individual items tendered for cleaning. Laundry Services include but not limited to, security and safekeeping of laundry, loading and uploading of all laundry and linen items, producing laundry tickets, inventory of incoming and outgoing laundry, express wash service, and dry-cleaning services.

Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for the day-to-day execution of Linen exchange and laundry operations as specified in the Performance Work Statement.
  • Responsible for communicating and upholding company standards, leading by example, working as a team and providing clean, friendly and well-maintained laundry services.
  • Stores, inventories, and issues lodging linens.
  • Collects, segregates, counts and records number of soiled linens for repair or laundry, places them in proper containers.
  • Examines laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability.
  • Assists Laundry Contractor with offloading of clean linen for storage at the linen exchange office.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and condition of the equipment and grounds at each facility.
  • Shall maintain guest feedback and address comments with appropriate action taken.
  • Responsible for following a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented training program.
  • Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).
  • Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
  • Shall ensure oversight of LN workforce in accordance with 332 AEWI and AFCENTI 32-1002.
  • Shall perform escort duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements.

  • Other Requirements

    Work will be primarily indoors but may be outdoors to support various events.
  • Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur.
  • Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs.
  • Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions.
  • Task specific work environment training will be provided as required.
  • Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U. S. interests.
  • 100% Overseas Assignment.

  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

    Must have a High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S. Passport and U. S. Driver’s License.
  • Must be certified or shall be willing to receive certification to drive up to a 10K forklift.
  • Must be able to or shall be willing to learn to drive manual transmission vehicles.
  • Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
  • Must be able to pass MOD15 employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
  • Candidates must successfully complete hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of DoD provided protective gear.

  • Experience

    A minimum of two (2) years' of previous experience or work in relation to a laundry/linen setting and one year of customer service experience. Experience to include supervision of other employees to include local nationals.

    Skills

    Good communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements
  • Military experience in a contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.
