Communications Support Consultant

Purpose Of Assignment

The Communications Support Consultant will provide general support to the HEIG project, with a primary focus on the development, coordination, and management of communications products, including reports, success stories, visuals, and other materials to effectively communicate project outcomes and achievements. This consultant will assist the communications team in engaging stakeholders and partners, including universities, government entities, private sector, and donors, to amplify the visibility of the project’s efforts.

The consultant will ensure that all communications align with USAID branding, marking guidelines, and communication strategies, contributing to a coherent and impactful narrative for the HEIG Activity.

Expected Deliverables

  • Content Development & Review
  • Draft and review project communications materials including, but not limited to, success stories, internal/external reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual), presentations, and other deliverables.
  • Assist in drafting and finalizing press releases, ensuring alignment with USAID branding and marking guidelines.
  • Provide editorial support to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency in project communications.
  • Support the creation of videos, concept notes, storyboards, and manage vendors for video production.
  • Visuals and Graphics
  • Assist in the development of high-quality visuals, infographics, and multimedia materials that communicate complex information in a simple, visually appealing manner.
  • Design and production of communication materials, including printed and digital media. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
  • Support communication efforts with stakeholders, including partner universities, government bodies, and sub-awardees.
  • Engage in stakeholder interactions to gather feedback, testimonials, and success stories to reflect the project’s impact.
  • Campaigns Support
  • Assist in the implementation of communications and marketing initiatives with partner universities.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives by helping to improve the marketing and communication skills of partners.
  • Support the coordination of HEIG Activity communication campaigns, particularly those led by local institutions or government partners.
  • Monitoring and Reporting
  • Contribute to the development of infographics and other visual representations of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) findings and conclusions.
  • On-the-Ground Support
  • Provide logistical and communications support during key project activities and interventions.
  • Capture raw footage, photographs, and testimonials, producing impactful write-ups to convey the project’s story and outcomes.
