Job Details

The Fuel Coordinator will be based at the U.S. Embassy Compound in Baghdad, Iraq and serve the Base Life Support Services (BLiSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of fuel logistics (taking fuel orders, dispatching orders to appropriate transportation providers, and following up to ensure delivery has occurred) and will report to the Logistics Supervisor.

The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

DUTIES:
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
  • Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  • Order fuel from commercial sources.
  • Monitor fuel levels and re-order points.
  • Maintain close coordination with fuel Sub-Contractor and U.S. Department of State administrative personnel to obtain correct documentation for fuel delivery.
  • Track fuel, food, and material shipments.
  • Process fuel delivery Receipts and update records.
  • Liaise with the Logistics Management Center (LMC) to submit official State Department letters to Oil Product Distribution Center to maintain the monthly fuel allocation.
  • Provide the LMC staff with verbal translations from State Department to officials located at multiple Government of Iraq offices.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: One (1) years experience in fuels and Logistics services.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Complete understanding of the general aspects and technical phases of the job and their practical applications and situations ordinarily encountered.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Fuel Testing procedures and fuel Testing Equipment.
  • Complete understanding of safe Fuel Handling practices.
  • Familiar with set Fuel quality standards and the required testing used to establish fuel conformance.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
  • Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
  • Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid drivers license from Home of Record.
  • Security Vetting: Must obtain a favorable RSO certification as required by the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required security level for the duration of the contract.
  • Language Skills: The selected candidate must be fluent in Arabic and English (both written and spoken).
  • Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination.
  • Previous out of home country experience is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus.
  • Experience working with Amentum.
