Overview:


KBR is currently recruiting for a Site EPCM Project Controls Coordinator to strengthen our team in Basra, Iraq. This is an Expat position on a 28/28 Rotational Basis.


The successful candidate will be able to work under minimal supervision in a heavy workload environment. The Site EPCM Project Controls Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and controlling Project Control activities with a bias towards Planning whilst ensuring compliance with established processes and standards. This role involves collaboration with various departments ensuring adherence to HSE & Quality standards and regulatory requirements. Contract 1 Year Renewable.


Safety:


Ensure that the necessary KBR policies, procedures, and resources to support the HSE Plan are in place. Communicate and demonstrate through personal action that the emphasis on cost and/or schedule does not override the safety of personnel at site and maintain a high profile in the implementation of the HSE Plan by participation in observations, reviews, and safety related campaigns.

Responsibilities:


• Demonstrate leadership, commitment, and accountability.

• Aim to raise a minimum of 4 no KBR Culture to Care observations per rotation.


•Provide Support to all Site Project Control Disciplines.


• Develop and Maintain a good working relationship with the Client Site Management Team.


•Assist Project Controls Lead & Lead Planning Engineer in providing the Project Controls link between Site & KBR Head Office.


•Carry out Preliminary Study of the Basis of Design for the Portfolio of Projects to gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire Program:


Analysis of Project 3D Models: Conduct thorough reviews to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.


Site Visits: Conducted in collaboration with the Construction Team for in-depth analysis of the Scope of Work (SoW).


Instigate Internal & External Kick Off Meetings.


• For new Packages of Works and Newly Engaged Contractors:


Study the Project SoW: Evaluate the SoW or contract in detail, including high-level phase diagrams, to clarify interactions and potential interferences.


Assist Lead Planning Engineer to review and comment on Contractor’s Schedule: Assess the schedule attached to the contract, detailing the construction timeline and preceding pre-construction activities.


Share and discuss the schedule with the Site Project Team.


Integrate Comments: Consolidate feedback and send it to the Contractor. Repeat this process until a final, agreed-upon schedule is obtained.


Verify integration of new project in the overall program.


Assist Lead Planning Engineer to upload the construction schedule into the KBR - Primavera P6 server and ensure logical links with previous schedule sections.


•Assist Lead Planning Engineer with Weekly Physical Progress Updates in Primavera P6 for all active projects.


•Package Closeout: Following MC1 & SH1:


Lessons Learned: Record lessons learned to enhance future planning activities of a similar nature.


• Initial Contractor Engagement:


Arrange and Chair Contractor Pre Start Meeting and Checklist review.


Organize First Contact: Arrange initial meetings between the Project Controls Team (KBR) and Contractors.


Define Reporting Expectations: Set expectations for the Weekly Report package, Daily Progress Report (DPR) format, calculation tools, and progress meeting protocols.


Project Controls Guidelines: Instruct contractors on the 'engagement rules' and guidelines.


Challenge Contractor Proposals: Review and critically evaluate contractor proposals.


Define the weighting factors for creating the construction S-curve.


• Report Review and Analysis:


Daily/Weekly Reports: Review and comment on reports submitted by all Contractors, correcting form and content as necessary.


Calculation Verification: Analyse underlying calculations on a sample basis and identify data manipulation.


• Weekly Construction Progress Meetings:


Weekly Review Meetings: Participate in review meetings of the 2-week, 6-week, and 12-week portfolio schedules.


Facilitate Weekly Contractor Construction Progress Meetings.


• Construction Progress:


Validate / Challenge Contractor Reported Progress via Physical Site Progress Measurement Twice Weekly.


Carryout Workfront analysis in conjunction with Contractor to ensure all available works front are progressed and maximum progress is achieved.


• Interaction with Commissioning:


Assist Lead Planning Engineer to upload and maintain Primavera P6 server for commissioning schedules.


Integrated Schedules: Assist Lead Planning Engineer to Collaborate with Commissioning to create and maintain integrated Construction-Commissioning schedules, optimizing resource allocation for commissioning.


•Due to the sheer volume of live and upcoming packages of work, schedule management responsibilities will be share with the Site Lead Planning Engineer on a critical/ non critical basis.


•Assist the Project Controls Lead in the production and validation of the KBR Weekly Construction Progress Report and Maintenance of the CTR Tracker.

Qualifications:


• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognised institution.


•Mandatory previous Middle East experience (Iraq specific would be advantageous).


•8 Years experience in similar field, within the Oil & Gas industry.


•Keen to work in harsh/remote locations.


•Proficient in advanced reporting, internal processes, and contractor oversight.


•Skilled in comprehending processes and developing those relevant to assigned responsibilities.


•Expertise in integrating contributions across all disciplines to develop comprehensive 360-degree schedules.


•Experience in detail planning and integration of multiple schedules.


•Competencies in Quantity Surveying & Cost Control techniques


•Oracle Primavera P6 power user.


•Full knowledge of MS Suite.


•Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.


•Capability to AutoCAD and Navisworks.


•Meticulous attention to detail and ability to step back and view the full picture.


•Fluent in English; proficient in report writing and delivering presentations.


•Capable to manage internal, Client and Contractor meetings.


•Ability to work and thrive within a diverse workforce.
