We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Sciences Teaching Faculty member to join our team for the MedStart Program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction across various medical science disciplines, providing guidance and mentorship to students, and contributing to the development of course materials and assessments. The position requires a strong foundation in medical sciences, a passion for teaching, and the ability to foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction and Course Delivery:
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive lectures, seminars, and lab sessions across various medical science disciplines, including but not limited to:
- Human Biology
- Chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Biophysics
- Molecular Biology
- Genetics and Immunology
- Pathology
- Epidemiology and Biostatistics
- Public Health
- Teach core foundational medical science courses as outlined in the MedStart curriculum, adapting teaching methods to suit diverse student learning styles.
Curriculum Development:
- Collaborate with the Program Director and faculty team to develop and enhance course syllabi, lecture materials, and assessment tools.
- Ensure that the course content aligns with MedStart's objectives and standards, incorporating the latest research, best practices, and relevant case studies.
Student Assessment and Feedback:
- Design and administer assessments, including quizzes, exams, assignments, and lab practicals, to evaluate student performance.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their progress and areas for improvement.
- Support students in their academic development by offering regular office hours, tutorials, and academic guidance.
Mentorship and Academic Support:
- Act as a mentor and academic advisor for students, providing guidance on academic performance, career planning, and professional development.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
Administrative and Collaborative Responsibilities:
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and assessment development sessions.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members to ensure a cohesive and integrated learning experience for students across all medical science modules.
- Assist in student recruitment, outreach activities, and representation of the MedStart program at academic and professional events.
Qualifications:
- A PhD or Master’s degree in a medical science discipline (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, Public Health, Molecular Biology, or a related field).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in medical sciences at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.
- Proven ability to teach across multiple disciplines within the medical sciences curriculum.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering high-quality educational content.
- Strong research background with a track record of publications and/or conference presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and foster a collaborative learning environment.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time faculty position with responsibilities across multiple modules in the MedStart Program.
- Regular interaction with students, faculty, and administrative staff.
- May require travel for conferences, professional development, and institutional events.
