Key Goal:
The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise databases. This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and integrity of databases while supporting database-related projects and mentoring junior DBAs.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain database servers (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries and indexing.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Apply security measures, patches, and updates to ensure database safety.
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
• Collaborate with development, IT, and security teams on database integration and projects.
• Maintain database documentation, policies, and procedures.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior DBAs.
• Manage the budget and provide the required licenses and support renewals.
• Prepare capacity and performance reports for databases Adhere to manager’s business requests and directions.
• Adhere to manager requests and directions.
• Read, understand, enforce, and adhere to AsiaPay's information security policies, standards, and procedures, and do not hinder in any way the proper execution of procedures defined within.

Education, Experience & Qualifications necessary to perform the job:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
Experience: (5+) years of experience in database administration.
Language: Language skills (Arabic, English, Kurdish)
Key Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
Experience with backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery planning.
Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance requirements
