ZAMZAM Land LLC is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Engineering Lab Technician who will provide technical oversight and day-to-day supervision of laboratory testing, specifically focusing on concrete admixtures.

This position ensures that all trial mixes and material performances are implemented according to approved technical specifications, local standards, and project requirements. The Engineering Lab Technician will act as the primary technical focal point between the lab and the project teams, ensuring quality, compliance, and accurate testing of all concrete additives.

Reporting

The Engineering Lab Technician will report directly to the General and Techincal Manager at ZAMZAM Land LLC.

Contract, Working Hours & Location

• Contract Type: Full-time.
• Working Hours: 7 hours per day (8:00 AM to 3:00 PM).
• Location: Jurf al Nadaf, Baghdad. (Please note: A personal car is required for this position to facilitate occasional site visits and sample collection).
• Salary Range: IQD 800,000 to IQD 1,500,000 based on experience.

Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Testing & Trial Mixes

• Conduct daily laboratory trial mixes and physical testing specifically focused on concrete admixtures (e.g., plasticizers, retarders, accelerators).
• Ensure tests are implemented in accordance with approved specifications and standard testing methods (ASTM/BS).
• Monitor concrete quality, workability, and material compliance (slump retention, setting time, compressive strength).
• Conduct regular lab assessments, identify technical issues with admixture performance, and propose corrective measures or dosage adjustments.

Quality Control & Documentation

• Approve admixture batches and materials prior to site dispatch.
• Prepare detailed technical progress reports and trial mix data sheets.
• Support the preparation and review of technical specifications and performance data for client submittals.

Lab Safety & Maintenance

• Monitor Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) compliance within the laboratory environment.
• Ensure implementation of lab-level mitigation measures, including proper chemical storage, waste management, and equipment calibration.

Skills

Experience and Qualifications

Interested candidates for this position must have:

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
• Minimum 1 to 4 years of professional experience in concrete testing, lab management, or working directly with construction chemicals.
• Strong practical experience working directly with concrete trial mixes and understanding the chemical behavior of admixtures.
• Familiarity with Iraqi construction regulations, building codes, and standard concrete testing methods.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure quality control and compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Office for generating test reports; knowledge of similar engineering software is preferred.
• Good English skills is a plus in this position; working proficiency in Arabic is required.
• Team player, as the position requires close coordination with site engineers and technical sales teams.
• High level of integrity and adherence to lab safety and safeguarding principles.
