This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Basra, Iraq. This is a 28/28 rotational role.

The role

This project aims to take over the existing asset and maximize production in two phases. It is a fast-track, schedule-oriented design to enhance production.

The phases will restore, upgrade, and develop the current plant including:

• Restoration of initial plant capacity
• Building a new export pipeline
• Restoration of plant integrity and operability
• Flaring elimination and released water management
• Development of new flowlines, pads, and electrification network for new wells
• Debottlenecking of the plant
• Upgrade of safety and security facilities

Our scope is to provide engineering, procurement services, and construction assistance (EPsCa) for the initial development phase of the field in Southern Iraq. The scope of services includes construction and commissioning assistance.

Key Objectives

The Electrical Commissioning Engineer solves complex problems and uses discipline-specific knowledge to improve products or services. This role impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the commissioning team and related teams, ensuring work is within appropriate guidelines and policies.

Required to support the commissioning team by performing any of the following activities as a minimum:

• Commissioning and start-up spares development
• First fills and consumables development
• Commissioning and start-up procedures
• Functional testing of electrical systems
• Participation in commissioning, start-up, and performance testing
• Resolving operational and maintenance issues during commissioning, start-up, and performance tests
• Ensuring all electrical system designs (LV, MV, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, ELV systems, etc.) comply with international standards and Iraqi regulations
• Providing technical input and design solutions during project execution stages
• Supervising and inspecting on-site electrical installations to ensure adherence to approved designs and quality standards
• Resolving technical issues arising during the construction phase in coordination with project and site teams
• Conducting site inspections and testing/commissioning of electrical systems
• Preparing technical reports, progress reports, and documentation required for authority approvals and project handover
• Ensuring design completion as per assigned scope

Expected:

• 10 years' work experience in oil and gas plant operation
• Experience in EPC and commissioning
• Highly developed knowledge of industrial automation, electrical systems, and codes and norms in the European community, preferably in France
• Hands-on experience with commissioning, defect repair, and maintenance of petroleum equipment
• Strong knowledge of electrical design codes
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, ETAP, and other electrical design software
• Experience performing testing and commissioning of substations including scheme checks, protection relay tests, open loop tests, closed loop tests, and various stability tests
• Onsite management of trade support teams for operations, defect repair, and maintenance
• Experience with factory acceptance testing and documentation vetting

• Site experience in construction and commissioning
• Highest standard of safety, health, and environmental aptitude, cultivating the same in others
• Strong relationship management skills with a customer-focused approach
• Experience in project planning, execution, management, and communication with all stakeholders in large successful capital projects
• Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and discipline-related application software
