Roles and responsibilities:
The Senior Project Controls Engineer will report to the Project Controls Manager.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining the project's project controls plans, owning the controls processes.
- Developing and maintaining project execution schedules including level 1, 2, and 3 schedules. Ensure alignment on project assumptions with cost engineering, cost estimation, risk management, and project management.
- Implement schedule requirements of the company into the planning and cascade these to the contractors accordingly.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather inputs for the master schedule.
- Monitor progress and update schedules regularly to reflect actual performance.
- Review both the client’s and internal project reports.
- Provide support to client on all the assurance and verification work that is requested.
- Establishment of the project man-hour control system and the maintenance of the system.
- Establishment of the project cost control system and management of the system covering all the cost control processes and alignment activities.
- Verification of the monthly invoices.
- Establishment of the project planning system and management of the system covering all the project planning processes, management of all the project plans, and alignment activities.
- Establishment of the project cost estimation system and management of the system covering all the cost estimation processes including benchmarking and alignment activities.
- Participate in evaluating bid schedules and reviewing and assessing contractor plans to support contract award recommendations.
- Develop contract sections for planning and progress monitoring and reporting. Review, verify, and assess contractors' reported progress and ensure that this is reflected in the project schedule.
- Own and manage the contract project’s risk management process.
- Responsible for ensuring the alignment of project information and data in the development of project services deliverables.
Education, skills & experience:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
Experience and skill set
- Minimum 12 years experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Experience in cost control, cost estimating, project scheduling, risk management, and alignment of these disciplines.
- Experience in portfolio management of projects.
- Experience in managing resources in a multidiscipline team.
- Team player with clear evidence of working with others to deliver on goals.
