Roles & Responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities
- Ensure that all HQ teams meet operational and training standards with assistance from the training team and that the team is fully compliant with Control Risks Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure the teams display client etiquette, discipline and Control Risks low-profile approach whilst maintaining a high standard of team presentation.
- Responsible for the professional delivery of operational briefs to both Armed Protection Teams (APTs) and client staff when appropriate.
- Understanding of Iraq s geo-political landscape and Control Risks wider operations.
- Assist in the conduct of risk assessments and operational planning.
- Conduct venue and route surveys, security reviews and be able to produce bespoke reports.
- Plan and execute tasks to remote areas and locations outside normal area of operations.
- Provide cover to the project armed protection team contingent as and when required.
Management Responsibilities
- To conduct certifiable instruction in all relevant operational and medical team requirements in accordance with current Control Risks training directives, both to HQ teams as well as client dedicated teams.
- Responsible for deputizing in the absence of Ops Manager Baghdad and Baghdad Security Manager, assisting with the coordination of all operational activity within the region ensuring business continuity to the operations department.
- Work closely with the operational management team to assist with the delivery of regional operational activities as required, including APT QA/QCs, by the organizational quality management system.
- Work closely with the operational management team and regional departments to assists with all new commercial team mobilizations in support of operational requirements.
- To ensure that the HQ and Baghdad based dedicated teams conducts effective administration to include vehicle maintenance, equipment husbandry / accountability and reports and return.
- Assist and oversee with the management of temporary staff and all IN HR administration.
- Responsible for the oversight and enforcements of HSE standards across HQ and Baghdad based dedicated teams.
Desired Candidate Profile
Essential
- Minimum 4 years military, armed police service or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years Iraq APT operational experience as a Team Leader in Iraq.
- Minimum of 1 years APT operational experience in Baghdad.
Preferred
- Attendance on an internationally regarded military Non-Commissioned Officer or similar organizational command and leadership course such as the British Army Section Commanders Battle Course (or higher).
- Previous experience working within southern headquarters and an understanding of existing department roles.
- Previous experience operating in the wider Iraq environment.
Qualifications and specialist skills
Essential
- FREC/FPOS/AoFAQ medical qualification.
- Minimum security licensing SIA (frontline) close protection qualified.
- Competent and confident in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Preferred
- Security and risk management certification.
- HSE qualification.
- Certified training instructor CTTLS, PTLLS or equivalent BTEC
