Position summary
Amentum is seeking an Aviation Logistics Specialist to support associated aircraft maintenance and parts inventory/supply opportunity in Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base, Iraq (Balad Air Base). The selected candidate will possess versatile skills and abilities to perform a wide range of responsibilities that encompass administration, logistics, inventory requirements, and reporting throughout the procurement lifecycle to ensure timelines and inventory are met to sustain program requirements.
The Aviation Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the overall management of material requirements and control necessary for program support on site at Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base, Iraq. Direct and manage all logistics. Will exercise sound judgment in making decisions by an understanding of operational requirements, the available resources and options, and analyzing the impacts—both short term and long term. This person shall have knowledge of, and ability to, validate aircraft parts status, inventory, and storage of aircraft parts and all aspects of receiving and shipping out repairs. The candidate shall have experience updating aircraft data collection systems files.
The selected candidate will consider and engage all stakeholders to help ensure the most effective solutions to problems and maintain open and continuous communications and updates as appropriate. The candidate shall be responsible for assisting with all parts logistics support operations, including procurement—requisition process, inventory and storage, and maintaining status trackers. Will be the primary point of contact to ensure property records and required documentation are maintained and compliant with requirements. Compile and submit daily, weekly, and other reports as required. These can include, but are not limited to, accountability reports, parts trackers, and any other reporting as needed.

Knowledge and skills
- Initiates purchase requisitions, transportation of goods, allocation of procurements.
- Provide leadership with KPIs and necessary data to ensure adequate logistic support.
- Forecast and track procurements of all parts for purchase, repair, and/or calibration for the health of the program.
- Work closely with Business Manager and Program Manager to manage contract material funding and special contract funds.
- Ensures DOT, IATA, and other transportation compliance and requirements are adhered to in conjunction with the Amentum QCC Center and the Program Logistics Manager.
- Ensures inventory control of government assets for the entire program.
- Uses supply chain software and resolves customer, shipment, and host country issues.
- Prepare all necessary correspondence required in the performance of this effort for government review, approval, and release.
- Assist with establishing and maintaining written procedures for the proper control of government furnished property and contractor acquired property.
- Submit changes to established procedures ensuring all functions are consistent with written procedures.
- Establish and maintain stocking levels of government property to ensure materials are available to meet maintenance requirements.
- Maintain inventory at lowest possible cost to the government.
- Interface with Program Manager and Logistics Manager on issues involving procedural deficiencies.
- Maintain accurate records of government property throughout the acquisition and disposition process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and education
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehousing; experience in material management for government, DoD, or commercial supply chain.
- 2+ years experience in aviation parts acquisition preferred.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain United States Secret Security Clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain and maintain United States Secret Security Clearance.
- FAA or DoD related aviation supply parts experience.
- Experience in and capable of managing supply functions such as storage, issue, inspection, research, repairable processing, shipping, receiving, warehousing, aircraft maintenance support, preparing requisitions, procurement, and accounting for aircraft parts and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
