Roles & Responsibilities

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with the company's policies and standards.
  • Identifies high-risk situations, reviews risk analysis, adopts a risk mitigation approach to the program, and discusses with the WS Team.
  • Leads in HSE and non-conformance event investigations and reporting as required
  • Responsible for ensuring that key projects and engineering duties are fulfilled.
  • Assign tasks to engineers.
  • Provide engineering experience, expertise, and leadership to the WS Department.
  • Review the well services programs, including full contribution and QA/QC, to ensure the highest standard is generated by the Engineering Team.
  • Manage continuous improvement through integration of learnings, best practice and benchmarking data.
  • Coordination of in-house technical support and external well service technical support
  • Review required AFEs of WS activities.
  • QA/QC of all pre-job technical calculations within Programs.
  • Daily engineering and troubleshooting support to the Well Services Operations Team
  • Training and mentoring of local and junior staff engineers.
  • Liaise with Service Providers and Contractors with regard to inventory and equipment needs aligned with short- and long-term Rig/Well scheduling and planning
  • Must be flexible to support extended operations beyond a normal working day when required
  • Be proactive in anticipating well ops challenges and be quick and effective when reacting to issues.
  • Preparing programs/AFEs, as well as reviewing them.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years experience, including completions, workovers, stimulation, and well intervention operations at an Engineering level, with at least a substantial amount spent at the supervisor level.
  • Safety courses are required to carry out work at the site and in accordance with company policy, and as required by Country law and regulations.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take directions from line manager(s), and focus attention on details.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with limited direct supervision.
  • Must be capable of completing and tracking multiple tasks simultaneously, and often under tight deadlines.
  • Detailed understanding of best industry practice on engineering of well integrity during well service operations.
  • Ability to solve complex problems in an innovative and cost-effective manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Can work in a multi-national environment.
  • Demonstrates commitment to HSSE policy and statement and knows and understands expectations as detailed in the HSSE Management System.
  • Develops highly positive relationships with both field and office teams.
  • Looks beyond the obvious in problem-solving.
  • Provide support to WS Managers/Superintendents when required on technical matters.
  • Ensures cost-effective use of services and equipment.
  • Maintains a strong focus on progress towards the achievement of objectives.
  • Demonstrates a high level of competence in leading others.
  • Workover operations.
  • Well Completions.
  • Well Interventions incl. Coiled Tubing and Slickline operations.
  • Knowledge of stimulation.
  • Fishing cased hole.
  • Well control.
