Travel Pay





Contractors are not entitled to pay while travelling. You will be paid a half day rate on the first day you arrive in Theatre. You will not be paid on the day you depart from Theatre.








Visa Requirements





The fee for stamping the single-entry visa into the passport upon arrival at the airport will be borne solely by the Contractor. The approximate cost for this transaction is US$85.








Package





Aegis will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.








Flight Package





Aegis will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.


The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary and tertiary hub airport from the Aegis hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, Aegis will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.


The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.

Hiring Criteria





  • Fit and in excellent health.

  • Resilient under pressure, capable of working with senior management and subordinates in a variety of situations.

  • Must be highly motivated and be able to work towards targeted deadlines, making maximum use of the resources available.

  • Must hold basic level of mechanical engineering, vehicle repair & maintenance qualifications.

  • A good knowledge of Transport Fleet Management to include vehicle procurement, equipment husbandry and logistic resupply.

  • Must have previous experience of maintaining a substantial fleet and be capable of basic diagnosing, and the repair of mechanical faults.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and an excellent knowledge of Excel.

  • Must communicate on intermediate level in English.






Job Duties





The Workshop Senior Mechanic reports directly to Project Fleet Manager (FM) and Security Services Coordinator (SSC). He is the focal point for all matters relating to the eni Fleet Scheduled and Unscheduled work. He is also responsible for managing the workshop manpower, which includes two (2) Iraqi mechanics and the allocation of assets to jobs, including stores and he must be able to accurately account for all usages using an excel Spreadsheet. Additional responsibilities include.



  • Receiving fault sheets and creating Job cards.

  • Maintaining the cost capture spreadsheet and sending to the project FM on a weekly basis.

  • Costing jobs and requesting authorization above his financial cap which will be set by the Iraq Fleet Manager.

  • Monitoring all repairs to confirm all faults have been rectified to a good standard.

  • Diagnosing and effecting start line repairs.

  • Asserting that any other work picked up by the workshop is required.

  • Requesting spare parts as and when required.

  • Ensuring strict adherence to the workshop shop floor H&S requirements.

  • Assist with any other work as nominated by the FM or SSC.
