Key Objectives:
A QA/QC Engineer ensures all materials, equipment, construction, fabrication, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The role spans quality assurance (preventing defects through systems and planning) and quality control (detecting defects through inspections and testing), ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant project delivery.
Key Responsibilities 1. Quality Planning & System Implementation
- Develop and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), QC procedures, welding/NDE/coating plans, and surveillance programs in alignment with ISO 9001 and relevant API/ASME codes.
- Educate and implement the Quality Management System (QMS) across project teams to promote continuous quality awareness.
2. Material & Supplier Quality Control
- Perform supplier quality activities: capability assessments, pre‑inspection meetings, stage inspections with hold/witness points, and final MDR/QA dossier reviews.
- Verify material conformity and traceability through MTCs (EN 10204), PMI, heat/lot traceability, preservation, and consumable control
3. Welding, Fabrication & NDT Oversight
- Review/qualify WPS/PQR per ASME IX/API 1104, monitor welder qualifications, essential variables, hardness checks, and post‑weld heat treatment.
- Manage NDT requirements including MT, PT, UT, RT, PAUT, TOFD; verify procedures per ASME V/ISO 9712 and ensure inspection acceptance meets criteria.
- Conduct quality inspections on welding, piping, structural works, and mechanical components to ensure compliance with standards.
4. Construction & Commissioning Quality Assurance
- Oversee QC activities during construction: fit‑up/alignment, torque/tensioning, dimensional checks, cleanliness/flushing (ISO 4406), coatings (surface prep, DFT, adhesion), E&I tests (IR testing, continuity, function tests).
- Witness and validate pressure testing, FAT/SAT, valve testing, wellhead QC, and E&I loop checks with calibrated instruments.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed inspection records, test reports, NCR logs, calibration records, and quality statistics.
- Compile MDRs, weld maps, NDE traceability, certificates, and handover documentation supporting mechanical completion.
6. NCR Management & Root Cause Analysis
- Issue, track, and close Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs); lead root cause investigations (5‑Why, Fishbone analysis); define corrective/preventive actions.
- Propose process improvements to reduce recurring defects and improve quality performance.

7. Compliance & Auditing
- Ensure all processes comply with ISO/API/ASME and project‑specific standards.
- Conduct internal/external audits per ISO 19011, close findings, and report KPIs such as first‑pass yield, NCR density, and audit performance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, QA/QC, or related).
- ISO 9001:2015 QMS training/certification; Lead Auditor certification preferred.
- Familiarity with API, ASME, ISO, and relevant oil & gas standards.
- Experience with NDT methods such as UT, MPI, PT (preferred).
- 8+ years QA/QC experience in oil & gas projects.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC principles, quality planning, inspection, and auditing.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Excellent documentation, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Strong understanding of welding, fabrication, and NDT techniques.
- High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving/root‑cause analysis capability.
