Job Summary
The Topographic Surveyor will be responsible for executing and supervising all surveying activities required during the construction supervision phase. The role involves establishing precise control points, verifying as-built conditions, ensuring accurate measurement and leveling, and providing essential survey data to support engineering and construction activities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, hands-on experience with modern surveying instruments, and a keen eye for precision to ensure the integrity and quality of project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct topographic and engineering surveys, ensuring accuracy and compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control points to support construction supervision activities.
• Verify contractors’ survey work, alignments, levels, and setting out to ensure proper execution of works on site.
• Review and validate survey data, calculations, and reports submitted by contractors.
• Prepare and maintain complete and accurate survey records, drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate closely with site engineers, inspectors, and the contractor’s survey team to resolve discrepancies and ensure alignment with the design intent.
• Utilize modern surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS systems, and digital levels for precise measurements.
• Support the Resident Engineer and Construction Manager in verifying quantities and work progress measurements.
• Ensure adherence to project safety protocols and quality procedures during all survey operations.
• Mentor junior survey staff and support knowledge transfer within the supervision team.
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in topographic and construction surveying, preferably with major engineering consultancy or supervision projects.
• Proven expertise in using total stations, GPS, and other advanced surveying instruments and software.
• Strong knowledge of survey methods, geodetic principles, leveling, and setting out of infrastructure and building works.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, topographic maps, and construction specifications.
• Familiarity with international surveying and construction standards.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills with attention to detail.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and capable of working effectively under site conditions.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English
