Job Vacancy: IT Site Engineer Location: Basrah, Iraq
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer with a strong background in CCTV, network infrastructure, security, and firewalls. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience and will be responsible for supervising the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems. This role involves overseeing work in diverse environments, including remote locations such as oil fields. The candidate must have excellent English communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively while ensuring the smooth operation and security of IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:Supervision: Lead and supervise the installation, configuration, and maintenance of CCTV systems, network infrastructures, firewalls, and security protocols. Team Leadership: Manage on-site teams and coordinate IT operations to ensure that all tasks are completed according to standards and schedules. System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Oversee the monitoring of IT systems, identify potential issues, and ensure timely resolution of problems related to networking, security, or CCTV systems. On-site Work: Supervise IT infrastructure setup at various locations, including remote and challenging environments like oil fields. Be prepared for travel and extended stays as needed. Documentation & Reporting: Ensure proper documentation of system configurations and changes. Report regularly to management on the status of IT systems and on-site activities. Compliance & Safety: Guarantee that all IT operations adhere to industry regulations and safety protocols, especially in hazardous environments such as oil fields. Client Communication: Communicate in fluent English with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates, technical support, and guidance. Project Scope & BOQ Preparation: Ability to read scope of works for turnkey IT projects, prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and source pricing from local and international IT service providers.
Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in IT roles with a focus on supervising CCTV, network infrastructure, security systems, and firewalls. Work Environment: Willingness to supervise IT projects in remote, industrial locations like oil fields. Languages: Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to lead teams and explain technical information clearly. Certifications: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Cisco, Comp TIA, Microsoft, or other industry-recognized certifications) are a plus. Residency: Basra
Technical Expertise:Expertise in network equipment (routers, switches, access points) and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Familiarity with CCTV systems and security best practices.
