<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> Job Title: Control System Specialist Engineer<br> Location: Basra, Iraq<br> Duration: 12 months with possible extension.<br> Renumeration: Competitive day rate + Flight + Accommodation<br> 28x28 Rotation<br> <br> Department: This role will be reporting into the Maintenance &amp; Engineering team.<br> <br> The control systems engineer shall report to Instrument &amp; Control Team Lead and will be an integral member of a multi-discipline Engineering Department.<br> &nbsp;Responsibilities shall include:<ul><li>Provide technical control and safety system engineering support to client departments in the execution of brownfield and greenfield development projects, construction, operations and maintenance groups.</li><li>Participate in conceptual, basic, and detailed design activities.</li><li>Provide assurance on engineering compliance against pertinent standards, specifications, codes and regulations. Ensure that non-conformities and deviations are identified, risk assessed and mitigated.</li><li>Provide response to engineering and site queries in line with client specifications and best engineering practices.</li><li>Provide technical input to client management of change process. Carry out site surveys. Produce design and instrument, control and safety system work pack deliverables. Contents to include scopes of work, design/construction drawings, design calculations, system architecture, network configuration, control narrative, software design specification, HMI specification, alarm configuration, system I/O allocation, MTOs, task hazard assessments.</li><li>Provide support to develop and execute strategies to upgrade and expand existing control /safety systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Review and approve third-party engineering deliverables.</li><li>Produce material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, interfacing with vendors via procurement department</li><li>Provide support to activity planning and progress reporting.</li><li>Liaise and work closely with client instrument technical authority for guidance as necessary</li><li>Attend system testing, FAT, SAT and conduct technical audit/verification</li></ul><br> <br> Qualification:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation/Control /Electronics engineering</li><li>15+ years relevant experience in control and safety system engineering, including the design and operation of processing systems in the oil and gas industry.</li><li>Functonal safety certified from TUV/Exida or similar organization.</li><li>Experience in onshore operations, emerging areas / multicultural environments. <section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles &amp; Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>Main Duties and Responsibilities:</p><p>Network &amp; Administration</p><p>Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of Cisco-based network infrastructure across Kurdistan sites.</p><p>Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and security.</p><p>Manage firewalls, VPNs, switches, routers, and wireless systems with a focus on scalability and redundancy.</p><p>Maintain network documentation, topology maps, and configuration standards.</p><p>Microsoft 365 &amp; Office 365 Services</p><p>Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, and Azure AD.</p><p>Provide advanced support for Office 365 applications and integrations with other enterprise systems.</p><p>Systems &amp; Infrastructure</p><p>Oversee Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V or VMware).</p><p>Ensure system backups, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity strategies are in place and tested.</p><p>Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce best practices and respond to threats.</p><p>Implement and manage security measures to protect sensitive data and IT infrastructure.</p><p>End-User Support</p><p>Provide technical support to end users, including software installation, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware issues.</p><p>Guide users through problem-solving steps and ensure the timely resolution of technical problems.</p><p>Maintain records of issues and solutions to identify trends and prevent future problems</p><p>Guide and mentor junior IT staff and coordinate with cross-functional teams for project execution.</p><p>Support IT operations in remote sites and ensure consistent service delivery across all Kurdistan locations.</p><p>Working Conditions:</p><p>Office-based- 5 days/week</p></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><p>Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.</p><p>Minimum 7 years of experience in IT systems and network administration.</p><p>Proven experience managing Cisco networks and Microsoft 365 environments.</p><p>Strong understanding of enterprise networking protocols, security frameworks, and cloud services.</p><p>Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.</p><p>Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.</p><p>Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher.</p><p>Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.</p><p>CompTIA Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification.</p><p>ITIL Foundation or other IT service management credentials (optional but beneficial).</p><p></p></section>
