<p>Mission Geneva Call is a neutral and impartial non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting respect by Armed Groups and De Facto and/or Provisional Authorities (AGDAs) for international humanitarian norms in armed conflict and other situations of violence, in particular those related to the protection of civilians. Geneva Call focuses its efforts on banning the use of anti-personnel mines, protecting children from the effects of armed conflict, prohibiting sexual violence in armed conflict, working towards the elimination of gender discrimination, protecting civilian infrastructure, and ensuring humanitarian access.</p>
<p>Role The Legal & Policy Officer provides legal and policy support to the Iraq mission, leading the contextualization and adaptation of legal and policy outputs to support programme implementation. The role focuses on ensuring that legal and policy outputs are adapted to local contexts and responsive to a complex and rapidly evolving conflict environment, ensures coherency and quality of locally used and adapted legal and policy outputs, and strengthens the capacity of field teams, partners, and relevant external actors through training and facilitation. The position is based in Baghdad with regular travel to field locations.</p>
<p>Work relations The Legal and Policy Officer reports to Thematic Advisor and has a technical reporting line to the country director, and to the Head of Policy, Research, and Legal Unit (PRL). The role works closely with the Head of programmes, programme staff, MEAL and PRL to ensure alignment with Geneva Call s legal and policy positions, quality standards, and engagement approaches. Externally, the role supports engagement with national authorities, partners and other relevant stakeholders, to support programme implementation.</p>
<p>Duties and Responsibilities</p>

<h4>Working and Living Conditions</h4>
<p>This position may be located in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 10 hours per day, while some jobs have higher daily and weekly minimums. <h4>3. Qualifications & experience</h4>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in petroleum, mechanical, or related engineering discipline.</li>
<li>8-12+ years of experience in completions, well intervention, workover, and well integrity engineering disciplines.</li>
<li>Valid IWCF Level 4 Well Intervention Pressure Control certification.</li>
<li>Strong experience leading CWI engineering teams in high-activity onshore fields.</li>
<li>Comprehensive understanding of well integrity standards (e.g., NORSOK D-010), well control, and barrier management.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of international standards (API, ISO, IOGP) and regulatory compliance requirements.</li>
<li>Expertise in completion, CT, slickline, e-line, ESP, stimulation, and workover engineering.</li>
<li>Experience in Iraq/Majnoon preferred.</li>
<li>Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.</li>

Make Tax reconciliations within the system and with vendors and dealers. Prepare required letters to vendors and tax office in KRG and Federal tax authority along with supporting documents. - Compliance with tax law and instruction in relation to WH Tax. - Maintain and update Tax data sheets detailed analysis like split of invoices and payments on daily basis, applying of cleared open items in the excel sheet to ensure clean net payable lists for Tax reporting - Tax data/record preparation for data migration/transfer from one ERP to other. - Maintain withholding tax balances on general ledger and assuring accurate accounting treatment and correct account mapping with vendors, and availability of accurate supplier tax balances. - Participate in preparing reports and documentation to enable the company to agree with tax authorities on a process for withholding tax of vendors, - Prepare the required documents and files for tax audit purposes. - Archive and maintain tax documents and records related to suppliers and Dealers. - Coordinate with the Accounting and Procurement departments to ensure accurate recording of suppliers tax information.
