Basic ability to prepare maintenance records and technical reports. Ability to train and guide junior technicians. Willingness to work shifts and respond to urgent breakdowns. Critical Selection Requirement Applicants must have direct experience maintaining machines that form, fill, and seal plastic water cups. <section>Job DescriptionRoles & Responsibilities<div class="paragraph">The Radiology Technician uses specialized X-ray equipment to create images of the body for doctors to diagnose and treat patients. The position is on a Locum rotation, 30 days active and 120 days inactive.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Prepares patients, operates equipment and evaluates X-ray images.</li><li>Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.</li><li>Prepares patients for radiological procedure by positioning patient.</li><li>Adjusts immobilization devices, moves equipment into specified positions and modifies equipment controls to set exposure factors.</li><li>Providing explanations of treatment and answering questions for patients.</li><li>Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding and knowledge of exposure factors.</li><li>Adjusts and maintains imaging equipment and ensures it is working properly.</li><li>Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.</li><li>Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.</li><li>Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events.</li><li>Performance of other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Operational responsibilities:<ul><li>Assess patient and uses proper patient positioning to obtain optimal images.</li><li>Evaluates previous studies for comparison.</li><li>Performs technical phases of radiographic procedures within the radiology department</li><li>Documents findings in a technologist report.</li><li>Performs procedures while taking precautions against unsafe exposure to patient, self or others.</li><li>Develops digital images, creates, updates and maintains patient data files and ensures transmission of images to consultant radiologists.</li><li>Manages diagnostic evaluation reports.</li><li>Provides written and verbal reports to physicians recognizing cases requiring immediate attention.</li><li>Interfaces with consultant radiologists and manages the operational and fiduciary compliance.</li><li>Interfaces with clinic staff, technical support for regular software upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting.</li><li>Responsible for imaging patient records, creates and maintains files and preforms audits.</li></ul>This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.</div></section><section>Desired Candidate Profile<ul><li>Capable of functioning independently and proven ability in exercising independent judgment.</li><li>Consultation skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, public speaking skills, and proficiency with computer system.</li><li>Must be familiar with all standard radiographic procedures.</li><li>Possesses technical ability to obtain optimal images.</li><li>Have fluency in both oral and written English.</li><li>Current experience in direct patient care and must have worked a minimum of 6-months of the last 12-months in career field.</li><li>Maintain continuing education activities.</li><li>Experience with digital acquisition and transmission of images desired.</li><li>Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or home country equivalent.</li><li>Certified Ultrasound Technician or home country equivalent preferred.</li><li>Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements.</li><li>Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.</li><li>May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs.</li><li>Obtain medical clearance and maintain current immunizations.</li><li>Must be able to relocate to Balad, Iraq.</li><li>A valid passport from country of record is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation.</li><li>You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Balad.</li><li>The incumbent may be required to perform job related tasks other than those specifically presented in this job description.</li><li>This job description is subject to regular review.</li></ul></section>
