<p><strong>Job Purpose</strong></p><br><p>The Deputy Team Leader (DTL) provides armed protection security for our client contract in Basra. DTL is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of team presentation and capability to the client. DTL is fully compliant with Control Risks’ SOPs at all times and works with his/her colleagues to deliver the best possible service to the client. </p><br><p>ONLY INTERNAL CANDIDATES ARE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE</p><br><p><strong>Start Date: towards end of July 2026</strong></p><br><p><strong>Application Closing Date: Monday, 13 July 2026</strong></p><br><p><strong>Other details will be shared on the next stage of recruitment</strong></p><br><p><strong>Tasks and responsibilities</strong></p><br><ul><li>Demonstrates client etiquette, discipline and Control Risks’ low profile approach;</li><li>Possesses up to date knowledge of threat and key issues in Iraq. </li><li>Conducts Vehicle and Dismounted Contact and Immediate Action Drills.</li><li>Possesses competent Navigation skills including map, compass and use of GPS.</li><li>Competent in the use of all communications systems both vehicles mounted and hand held.</li><li>Able to be fully conversant and comply with Rules of Engagement and Use of Force.</li><li>Maintains competence in these skills through regular formal assessment. </li><li>Conducts effective administration to include vehicle maintenance, equipment husbandry/accountability and reports and returns.</li><li>Assists in the conduct of risk assessments and operational planning.</li><li>Issues orders to team members and briefs clients in line with SOPs when required.</li><li>Conducts venue and route recces and produces reports.</li><li>Is able to command the team and issue direction to clients.</li></ul> </div>
<p>The Operations Manager will be based at the Baghdad Embassy Compound (BEC) site in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for taking ownership of the site operational responsibilities to include directing the daily performance of the organization, planning, scheduling and training processes to meet the requirements of the contract. This position will report to the OMSS Program Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.</p><p>DUTIES:</p><ul><li>Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.</li><li>Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.</li><li>Development and updating of the operations plan and maintenance program on a monthly basis</li><li>Record keeping for site data including as-builts, O&M manuals, commissioning documentation, design drawings, material and equipment cut sheets, etc.</li><li>Develop and maintain the MSDS program and provide access as specified for all EC personnel.</li><li>Develop , implement, and enforce a comprehensive safety program for all O&M Contractor staff, including periodic inspections and training programs.</li><li>Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.</li><li>Revie and maintain current information manuals for building operations and repair services and maintain accurate equipment and personnel records.</li><li>Act as the Program Manager s principal operations representative.</li><li>Responsible for the management of all O&M functions, including ensuring there are qualified personnel to meet staffing requirements, and the central planning, coordination, control, and actual performance of these functions.</li><li>Manage the O&M and other assigned functions on site to ensure overall contract performance, which requires getting information to and from critical operating/supporting elements and directing/coordinating actions to ensure resources are fully utilized to properly perform the mission.</li><li>Monitor system readiness, identify problem areas, and respond to mission requirements to perform contract requirements.</li><li>Direct and monitor the preventive maintenance program; accept, process, coordinate, and assign work orders, projects, and large task assignments.</li><li>Control resources; monitor staff proficiency and qualifications; monitor staff endurance; monitor the location and activities of assets; and coordinate the flow of information to and from O&M staff.</li><li>Perform additional duties and projects assigned.</li></ul><p>REQUIRED:</p><ul><li>Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: Minimum of 15 years experience in Operations and Maintenance services, with a minimum of 5 years experience in large facilities.</li><li>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</li><ul><li>Demonstrated working knowledge of Operations and Maintenance activities for a small plant, overseas, or military facility.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage required staff.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.</li><li>Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.</li><li>Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.</li><li>Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.</li><li>Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.</li></ul></ul><p>Education:</p><ul><li>A high school diploma or GED.</li><li>A bachelor s degree in business management, project management or similar discipline leading to a broad management background is preferred.</li></ul><p>Passport, Licenses and Certifications:</p><ul><li>As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts , candidates must possess a valid passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining until the expiration date with 8 blank pages.</li><li>Valid drivers license.</li></ul><p>Security Vetting:</p><ul><li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.</li><li>Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.</li></ul><p>Language Skills:</p><ul><li>Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.</li></ul><p>Medical:</p><ul><li>Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq.</li><li>Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.</li></ul><p>DESIRED:</p><ul><li>Relevant experience, skills and knowledge of electrical, mechanical/HVAC, power generation, water systems for a large facility are strongly preferred.</li><li>Relevant overseas operations management experience.</li><li>Previous out of home country experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions are a plus.</li><li>Experience working with Amentum.</li></ul><p>OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES</p><ul><li>Safety - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
