It requires liaising between contractors, suppliers, and owners, monitoring the implementation of key construction phases, and ensuring quality across interior and exterior works.</p><br><br><br><p><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></p><br><br><ul><li>Collaborate with the team to understand design specs and create detailed finishing schedules.</li><li>Assist in developing and managing the finishing budget, tracking expenses and variances.</li><li>Source, procure, and inspect materials for quality and compliance with project requirements.</li><li>Coordinate with contractors and owners, securing material samples and reviewing offers.</li><li>Act as a liaison between design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers; provide regular updates.</li><li>Oversee project implementation, including contractor offers, scheduling, planning, and material approval. <p>The Chief Engineer will be based at one of the Amentum sites in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. The Chief Engineer is responsible for all water purification, water storage, water distribution and wastewater treatments, as well as generators, and associated power generation, transmission and distribution equipment. The Chief Engineer is also responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of power plants, generators, compressors, air conditioning systems, etc., and operates industrial machinery and equipment in various forms.</p><p>DUTIES:</p><ul><li>Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring safety is the highest priority in the workplace.</li><li>Comply with all Environmental &amp; Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.</li><li>Responsible for managing, monitoring and tracking physical plant and building operations services.</li><li>Supervise and oversee the operations of the water and wastewater treatment plants to include all water quality laboratory, pumping, filtering, piping and control systems.</li><li>Ensure the viability, availability and safety of water treatment and waste distribution systems.</li><li>Maintain water well operations and water storage systems.</li><li>Manage water treatment waste stream to contractual standards.</li><li>Oversee the:</li><ul><li>Prime power and water/wastewater treatment programs;</li><li>Operation, calibration, diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs to all mechanical, electrical equipment systems and electrical/pneumatic control systems.</li><li>Preventative maintenance, condition monitoring, repair, installation and modernization of all power generation, transmission and distribution equipment on site; and</li><li>Support of prime power generators made by Caterpillar, Cummins, Perkins, FG Wilson and other manufacturers, with outputs ranging from 20KW up to 160KW.</li></ul><li>Provide daily guidance and direction to supervisors, operators, mechanics and technicians.</li><li>Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections.</li><li>Report any malfunctions or lack of compliance with SOW to the Chief Engineer.</li><li>Assist in developing the SOW when requested, including diagrams and specifications in compliance with Overseas Building Operations (OBO), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National electric Code (NEC) standards.</li><li>Maintain effective, timely and respectful communication and interaction with other employees and managers and support other organizations.</li><li>Perform administrative tasks including ordering material, inventorying and scheduling work.</li><li>Manage logistics, stock levels and workflow processes.</li><li>Collect, analyze and summarize data for report preparation and submit written reports.</li><li>Maintain appropriate technical library and record keeping, which documents all procedures necessary to accomplish assigned responsibilities.</li><li>Responsible for facility custodianship of work area and management of tools, equipment and spare parts.</li><li>Take initiative to analyze situations and make frequent technical decisions based on specifications, safety and electrical codes.</li><li>Evaluate operational effectiveness and develop/maintain effective operational control mechanisms.</li><li>Responsible for allocating and managing staff resources according to changing needs</li><li>Identify problem areas and respond to mission requirements to perform task order requirements.</li><li>Plan and manage projects.</li><li>Control resources; Experience in brownfield operations process safety engineering, reliability, modifications and strong technical leadership with influencing capabilities. <br>An ability to work effectively with other disciplines / teams to understand and assess complex issues and develop pragmatic solutions.<br>Proven ability in practical application of engineering standards and practices for process safety engineering. On the engineering side, you will oversee the maintenance, procurement support, and supplier supervision for dark store facilities, ensuring critical infrastructure like cold chain systems (chillers/freezers) and electrical networks remain fully operational.
