<p>The Mechanical & Hydraulic Technician (GSE) is responsible for carrying out preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all Ground Support Equipment used in airport operations.
This includes diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses, valves, braking systems, chassis components, and all mechanical/hydraulic assemblies.
The role ensures that GSE units remain safe, reliable, and operational to support continuous aircraft ground handling.
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and hydraulic systems for all GSE, including:
• Pushback tractors
• Belt loaders
• Baggage tractors
• High-lift catering trucks
• Lavatory/water service trucks
• Ground Power Units (GPU – mechanical side)

Mechanical Maintenance Tasks
• Engine repair and overhaul (diesel & gasoline)

• Lubrication, oil/filter changes, belt replacement
• Structural inspections (welding cracks, chassis damage)
Hydraulic Maintenance Tasks
• Hydraulic pump repair and replacement

• Hose replacement, fitting installation, and leak rectification
• System pressure testing and flow measurement
• Hydraulic fluid flushing, bleeding, and contamination control
Diagnostics & Technical Reporting

• Completes work orders, checklists, and maintenance reports accurately</p><p>A hands-on technician with 2-4 years of experience in heavy equipment, GSE, or hydraulic systems, capable of independently diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults, performing preventive maintenance, reading technical manuals, and ensuring GSE equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational in an airport environment.
Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Maintenance, or Hydraulic Systems.
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in GSE, heavy vehicles, industrial machinery, or hydraulic systems, Strong understanding of engine, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, Airport GSE experience is desirable.

<p>The GSE Electrician Technician is responsible for performing electrical preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all Ground Support Equipment across the airport.
This includes 12V/24V/48V DC systems, AC electrical systems, control panels, sensors, alternators, starters, wiring harnesses, ECUs, and electrical components related to diesel/electric GSE.
The role ensures the electrical systems of all GSE units are reliable, safe, and operational to support continuous airport operations.
o Performs electrical maintenance and repair of all GSE electrical systems, including:
o GPUs (400Hz/28V DC) electrical circuits
o ASU electrical systems
o Pushback tractors electrical/electronic components
o Belt loaders, baggage tractors, and high-lift trucks
o Lavatory/water trucks electrical systems
o Battery-operated GSE
o Troubleshoots electrical faults related to:
o Fuses, relays, connectors
o Alternators, starters, batteries
o Controllers, ECUs, sensors
o Switches, actuators, solenoids
o Diagnoses electronic and CAN-BUS communication issues (if applicable).
o Performs battery maintenance, load testing, and replacement.
o Reads and interprets electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and service manuals.
o Uses multimeters, clamp meters, diagnostic scanners, and test equipment effectively.
o Assists in overhauls, rebuilds, and electrical refurbishment of older GSE units.
o Ensures electrical components are installed correctly and safely.
o Supports installation of lighting, safety beacons, alarms, and electrical accessories on GSE.
o Completes service reports, checklists, and work orders accurately.
o Ensures electrical systems comply with OEM standards and airport safety rules.</p><p>A skilled Electrical Technician with 2-3 years of experience in GSE, heavy vehicles, or industrial equipment maintenance, possessing strong expertise in electrical troubleshooting, batteries, charging systems, wiring, and electronic controls. The candidate should be capable of independently diagnosing and repairing faults while ensuring equipment availability, operational reliability, and compliance with airport safety standards.
Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Automotive Electrical Systems.
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in electrical maintenance on GSE, heavy vehicles, or industrial equipment. Strong knowledge of DC/AC automotive electrical systems. Experience in fault finding, wiring, and control systems.
Training Requirements: GSE Electrical Systems Training (OEM preferred) , Battery Maintenance & High-Amperage Safety, Airside Driving & Safety (recommended)

<p>The post holder is responsible for the daily veterinary care to the K9 Head of Section /Kennel Master of the Airport Canine Explosives & Narcotics Detection Unit. Ensure that K9 Teams are healthy and fit to perform their operational duties efficiently and safely. This is a key Iraqi national role and includes managing the full parameters of the veterinary programs to ensure that the Explosive & Narcotics Detection Canines are ‘Fit for Purpose’ and capable of performing their operational delivery. The incumbent should also possess the ability to forge relationships with peers and stakeholders (primarily the MOI K9 Veterinary and Licensing Directorate). The postholder plays a critical role in the readiness of Canines.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
a) Veterinary Care: Monitor health, nutrition, veterinary care and psychological well-being of all canines.
b) Conduct Physical Examinations: Perform thorough physical exams to assess the overall health of dogs.
c) Diagnose Illnesses and Injuries: Identify and diagnose health issues through various laboratory tests, such as blood tests, urinalysis, biopsies, X-rays, MRI and ultrasounds.
d) Administer Vaccinations: Provide necessary vaccinations to protect dogs from infectious diseases.
e) Perform Surgeries: Conduct surgeries, including routine procedures like spaying and neutering, as well as emergency surgeries
f) Prescribe Medications: Recommend & prescribe medications for treating illnesses and managing chronic conditions.
g) Provide Preventive Care: Offer advice on proper nutrition, exercise, and grooming to maintain dogs' health.
h) Canine Feeding: Ensure that all canines are fed twice daily with the correct amount and quality of foodstuffs required for them to perform their duties. Coordinate with procurement for replenishment and upgrades.
i) Educate K9 Handlers & Kennel Assistants: Guide handlers and Kennel Assistants in how to care for their dogs, including preventive healthcare, parasite control, dietary recommendations & emergency care.
j) Maintain Medical Records: Keep detailed records of each dog's medical history, treatments, and progress.
k) Handle Emergencies: Respond to urgent health issues and provide immediate critical care, stabilization and perform life-saving procedures.
l) Collaborate with Specialists: Work with other veterinary specialists when advanced care or specific expertise is needed.
m) Communication Skills: Proficiency in communicating with K9 Handlers & Kennel Assistants, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care measures.
n) MOI Veterinary & Licensing: Liaise closely with the MOI Veterinary & Licensing Department to ensure that all new canines are properly processed and meet the government & agency detection standards for EDDs and NDDs.</p><p>Education:
• Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Science & Medicines.
• Managing Safely (IOSH) or equivalent
Experience:
• Applicant must have veterinary experience – either military, police or civilian.
• Minimum of 2 years in a K9 security management role with national and/or international experience.
• Experience of operating in post conflict, multicultural & low infrastructure environments.
• Minimum of 2 years working within an airport and/or other highly regulated, physical security-based establishment.
Language Skills:
• Solid knowledge and command of written and spoken English (essential) and Arabic (desirable).
Training Requirements:
• Ability to deliver basic animal husbandry training to canine support staff in benign and post conflict environments.

<p>Job specification:
The postholder plays a critical role in the readiness of Canines. He/She is the lead in overseeing canine operations, and ensuring K9 readiness, compliance with MOI K9 Training & Evaluation Directorate and aviation security standards, and effective deployment of K9 teams to check points for screening and patrols where required. The post holder works directly for the Head of the K9 Unit in managing the daily operations, canine logistics, and closely with the K9 Training Team in ensuring that all handlers and K9s are fully trained, certified and operationally effective. He/She works with the Unit Veterinarian in overseeing canine welfare, daily nutrition and daily kenneling activities. Finally, to support the Head of K9 Unit in liaising with regulatory authorities and ensuring compliance with the MOI Directorate of Training & Evaluation with Veterinary and Technical compliance standards required for certification, through drills, exercises and evaluations.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
a) Operational Oversight :
• Supervise daily activities of K9 handlers and dogs across EDD and NDD teams.
• Plan and coordinate deployment schedules for detection operations across all checkpoints.
• Coordinate with airport security, and where necessary customs, and law enforcement for joint operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards.
• Ensure optimal rotation and rest schedules for dogs and handlers.
b) Training & Development Support :
• Coordinate schedules with the K9 Training staff for regular training sessions for EDD and NDD teams, including simulated threat scenarios.
• Work with the K9 Training Staff to evaluate performance and readiness of K9 teams.
• Implement continuous improvement strategies for detection accuracy.
• Work with the Head of K9 Unit and the K9 Training staff to implement corrective training plans and maintain certification standards.
c) Translation & Liaison Duties :
• Translate operational briefings, SOPs, incident reports, and communications between multilingual teams.
• Act as liaison and facilitate communication between international management/supervisors, local handlers, and airport authorities.
• Ensure accurate real-time interpretation during joint operations, inspections, audits and emergency responses.
d) Canine Welfare & Logistics :
• Ensure proper nutrition, rest, and psychological well-being of dogs.
• Monitor health, nutrition, and veterinary care schedules of all canine assets.
• Coordinate with procurement for replenishment and upgrades.
e) Administrative & Reporting :
• Prepare mission reports, incident logs, and performance reviews.
• Assist Head of K9 Unit in budget planning and procurement for K9 operations.
f) Compliance & Policy Enforcement & Documentation :
• Enforce SOPs are related to canine deployment, search protocols, and handler conduct.
• Ensure adherence to international standards for detection dog use.
• Monitor legal and ethical guidelines in narcotics and explosives detection.
• Ensure adherence to Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, MOI and international K9 deployment standards.
• Maintain detailed logs of canine activity, detection results, and incident reports.
• Assist Head of K9 Unit in preparation of monthly performance summaries and submit them to SEC Headquarters.
g) Emergency Response & Incident Management :
• Lead K9 response during bomb threats, suspicious packages, or narcotics interceptions.
• Liaise with emergency services and provide translated briefings during crises.
• Document and debrief all incidents for legal and operational review.</p><p>Education
• Certifications in explosive detection, narcotics detection (essential).
• Certifications in K9 Supervisory & Training (essential).
• Canine handling & detection techniques (essential).
• Managing Safely (IOSH) or equivalent (desirable).
Experience
• Applicant should preferably have proven supervisory experience in law enforcement or military K9 Units.
• Minimum of 5-7 years in a K9 operations (EDD & NDD) role with domestic and international experience, preferably in airport or border security.
• Experience of liaising with K9 Regulatory & Training authorities.
• Experience of operating in post conflict, multicultural & low infrastructure environments.
Computer Skills
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office suit (user´s perspective) and able to manage other specific project/management software, provided the adequate training.
Language Skills
• Solid knowledge and command of written and spoken English (essential) and Arabic (essential).
Training Requirements
