<p>The field doctor reports to the lead doctor and is responsible for supporting the delivery and coordination of field medical services, including occupational health, emergency preparedness, and medical response activities. The role supports patient care activities in the field, including emergency and trauma response, while ensuring effective medical readiness and timely support for site operations. The field doctor also participates in HSE inspections, safety and health activities, and contributes to the implementation of occupational health and hygiene programs.</p>
<p>The position works closely with site management, HSE teams, and contractors to support medical coverage, emergency response capability, and overall workforce health and safety within the field environment.</p>
<h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4>

<li>Implement the primary health care program for all personnel and deliver hygiene quality assurance on behalf of IFMS in the Majnoon Oil Field.</li>
<li>Ensure effective management of all medical operations in MFD for primary occupational health, emergency and trauma care.</li>

<li>Support the implementation of the Facilities HACCP program within the field through monthly inspections and follow-up of actions for both facilities and contractors.</li>
<li>Ensure continuous communication internally with departments, external clients, government, and private health institutes to provide effective support for the business.</li>
<li>Ensure the effective implementation of MERP including bridging requirements for contractors.</li>
<li>Effectively coordinate MEDIVAC procedures with insurance companies, ER companies, and management.</li>

The SAMA MoD will advise and assist senior Ministry of Defense officials and USMILGP-Iraq personnel at the ministerial level, supporting the development of engagement strategies, operational coordination, decision-making processes, information sharing, and continued functional development of an effective Iraqi Ministry of Defense. <p>You'll serve as the senior clinical leader for a multidisciplinary healthcare program supporting a diverse workforce in a remote-site healthcare environment. This role combines executive medical leadership with active clinical practice, making it well suited for an experienced physician who values both direct patient care and the opportunity to shape healthcare quality, governance, and operational performance. Working closely with site leadership and clinical teams, you'll oversee medical services across the program while helping ensure safe, compliant, and effective healthcare delivery. You'll guide clinical governance initiatives, support physician and provider performance, and maintain oversight of patient care standards, emergency preparedness, and organizational medical operations.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Lead clinical governance, quality improvement, patient safety, infection control, medical record standards, credentialing activities, and emergency preparedness initiatives across the healthcare program.</li><li>Oversee physicians, surgeons, advanced practice providers, dentists, and other medical personnel while providing strategic direction for medical services and physician practice programs.</li><li>Chair the Medical Executive Committee and provide oversight of committees including Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Credentialing and Privileging, Peer Review, and Infection Control, ensuring appropriate reporting, documentation, and follow-through.</li><li>Guide clinical case management, medical referrals, patient movement decisions, and medical evacuation coordination while collaborating with external healthcare partners and medical transport providers.</li><li>Participate in organizational planning, policy development, government stakeholder meetings, audits, operational readiness activities, and business continuity planning from a medical leadership perspective.</li><li>Deliver direct patient care including medical evaluation, triage, diagnosis, treatment of acute, chronic, and emergent conditions, preventive care, annual physicals, immunizations, testing, follow-up care, and clinical documentation.</li><li>Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testing; prescribe medications and therapies; maintain continuity of care; and ensure accurate, complete medical records.</li><li>Support workforce medical clearance compliance, participate in mass casualty exercises and emergency response activities, and provide liaison support to external healthcare organizations when continuity of care requires coordination.</li></ul><p>This is a role for a physician leader who is ready to balance clinical practice with meaningful responsibility for healthcare quality, governance, and organizational impact.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>MD or DO from an accredited U.S. medical school (or equivalent international institution) with completed residency training in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine. <p>As a Medical Doctor supporting the Emergency Room, you'll provide onsite medical care primarily for local national employees, evaluating and triaging patients, diagnosing illness and injury, treating acute and chronic conditions, and coordinating follow-up care. You'll also support employee medical evaluations, testing and immunizations, maintain accurate medical records, and help stabilize and coordinate care for patients who require a higher level of medical services.</p>

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Proficiency with information technology, including electronic medical record systems. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and remain composed in stressful situations. Ability to obtain medical clearance and maintain current required immunizations.
