Establishes priority for completing prescribed tasks. Uses judgment to interpret internal and external concerns and create best practices. May direct resources, prioritize work, and guide less experienced team members. <p>KBR is seeking motivated Iraqi national graduates to join the IFMS project at Majnoon Oil Field as Technology Development Associates. This is an entry-level position that provides a structured development pathway into the disciplines of Information Management (IM), Information Technology (IT), Digital Solutions, Cyber Security, Applications, Data Management, Operational Technology, and SAP.</p>
<p>The role is designed for early-career graduates who demonstrate strong potential, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to building a long-term career in the oil and gas sector. You will follow a customized development plan combining formal training, on-the-job experience, mentoring, and practical project assignments, with the aim of progressing into specialist or technical roles upon successful completion of the program.</p>

<h4>Job purpose</h4>
<p>The reservoir engineer is part of the well reservoir facilities management team in the petroleum engineering department. The primary job purpose is to ensure asset value maximization, development planning and optimization decisions. The incumbent also needs to ensure the optimum recovery of remaining reserves and production within optimal operating envelope.</p>
<h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4>
<ul>
<li>Overview and participate in in-house reservoir studies and provide technical consultation support to internal/external reservoir studies (validation, assess quality of deliverables).</li>
<li>Check with the study team on the dynamic simulation model for short, medium and long term production forecasts and design a reservoir management strategy.</li>
<li>Support the study team to update the reservoir simulation model for field development plans, depletion planning, forecast and reserves assessment.</li>
<li>Daily reservoir production and performance monitoring in order to meet production criteria while adhering to prudent reservoir management plan.</li>
<li>Formulate, review and enhance reservoir management and surveillance plans.</li>
<li>Evaluate opportunities to improve reservoir ultimate recovery and production targets.</li>
<li>Provide support to other groups for well intervention, proposal, data acquisition and reservoir evaluation.</li>
<li>Provide technical advice and support on infill, appraisal and development drilling.</li>
<li>Get production forecasts from the study team (simulation models and/or other acceptable reservoir engineering techniques).</li>
<li>Conduct well and reservoir review, present recommendation to team and stakeholders as required.</li>
<li>Ensure a comprehensive range in subsurface uncertainties understanding has been thoroughly evaluated and passed on to develop production forecast, input, assumptions for WPB, STPF/LTPF etc.</li>
<li>Ensure integration and consistency between engineering and geological interpretations by close collaboration with the study team and other professionals (production technologist, petrophysicists, geologists, geophysicists, operations and facilities engineers).</li>
<li>Evaluate new technologies and applications to the reservoirs to improve ultimate recovery and encourage knowledge sharing amongst peers and colleagues.</li>
<li>Mentoring, training, and enhancing capability of less experienced colleagues and junior staff in all aspects of surveillance and reservoir management.</li>

<h4>Qualifications</h4>
<p>Degree in petroleum engineering. In-depth knowledge of reservoir management. Experience and good technical knowledge and understanding of reservoir drive mechanisms, stimulation design, well test analysis, decline curve analysis, production forecast and artificial lifts applications. Previously working in a multi-cultural and multi-national team. Knowledge of well completion, intervention, drilling and workover procedures and regulations. Oil and gas wells design and integrity monitoring and management from conceptual and construction until abandonment. Experience in reservoir engineering software: PI, PVTSim, Kappa’s Sapphire and OFM.</p>
<h4>Experience</h4>
<p>Minimum 10 - 15 years’ experience with an operator with in-depth technical knowledge and capability in reservoir engineering and reservoir studies (water flooding, gas injection etc.). Experience in both clastic and carbonate reservoirs development and recovery strategies. Previously working in a multi-cultural and multi-national team, international experience.</p>
<h4>Language proficiency, computer and software skills</h4>
<p>Must be able to speak upper intermediate and above English. Arabic is an advantage. Knowledge of Eclipse (basic), Petrel RE, IPSM, OFM. Experience in other petroleum engineering standard software (intermediate): EC, PVTSim, Kappa’s Sapphire or other software is an advantage.</p>
