<p>Under general supervision: From Surface Facilities IAM Project Manager or Project/Asset Manager, supervises the operations on the field projects for a given project or several projects in an asset. Establishes scope of work with site customer and site representative. Checks design documentation for adequacy to specific site conditions and agreed scope of work. Proposes engineering adjustments to site condition as required. Visits site before and during the project and verifies that applied project procedures by contractor will allow compliance of technical requirements and timely completion. Additional responsibilities include verifying project advance payment and contractor resource allocation; commenting and proposing adjustments to comply with project schedule and budget; verifying safety conditions at site and stop work if required; informing management and personnel of unsafe practice. Also participates in site project meetings with contractor and customer, and coordinates site inspection by QA/QC, HSE and commissioning teams in a timely matter. <p>The post holder is responsible for the daily veterinary care to the K9 Head of Section /Kennel Master of the Airport Canine Explosives & Narcotics Detection Unit. Ensure that K9 Teams are healthy and fit to perform their operational duties efficiently and safely. This is a key Iraqi national role and includes managing the full parameters of the veterinary programs to ensure that the Explosive & Narcotics Detection Canines are ‘Fit for Purpose’ and capable of performing their operational delivery. The incumbent should also possess the ability to forge relationships with peers and stakeholders (primarily the MOI K9 Veterinary and Licensing Directorate). The postholder plays a critical role in the readiness of Canines.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
a) Veterinary Care: Monitor health, nutrition, veterinary care and psychological well-being of all canines.
b) Conduct Physical Examinations: Perform thorough physical exams to assess the overall health of dogs.
c) Diagnose Illnesses and Injuries: Identify and diagnose health issues through various laboratory tests, such as blood tests, urinalysis, biopsies, X-rays, MRI and ultrasounds.
d) Administer Vaccinations: Provide necessary vaccinations to protect dogs from infectious diseases.
e) Perform Surgeries: Conduct surgeries, including routine procedures like spaying and neutering, as well as emergency surgeries
f) Prescribe Medications: Recommend & prescribe medications for treating illnesses and managing chronic conditions.
g) Provide Preventive Care: Offer advice on proper nutrition, exercise, and grooming to maintain dogs' health.
h) Canine Feeding: Ensure that all canines are fed twice daily with the correct amount and quality of foodstuffs required for them to perform their duties. Coordinate with procurement for replenishment and upgrades.
i) Educate K9 Handlers & Kennel Assistants: Guide handlers and Kennel Assistants in how to care for their dogs, including preventive healthcare, parasite control, dietary recommendations & emergency care.
j) Maintain Medical Records: Keep detailed records of each dog's medical history, treatments, and progress.
k) Handle Emergencies: Respond to urgent health issues and provide immediate critical care, stabilization and perform life-saving procedures.
l) Collaborate with Specialists: Work with other veterinary specialists when advanced care or specific expertise is needed.
