<p>Overview ***This position is physically located in Balad, Iraq*** Under the supervision of the Firefighter Crew Chiefs, the Firefighter responds to multiple-types of emergencies operating as a firefighter. Maintains vehicles, equipment, tools, and protective clothing in a serviceable condition. Extinguish fires and takes precautions to prevent fire rekindling. Operates pumps, foam generators, turrets, nozzles, and other firefighting tools and equipment. Exercises caution to avoid personal injury and property damage and comply with strict health and safety standards. At the site of a fire protects and preserves evidence indicating the cause of the fire. Properly wears personal protective clothing. Conducts and take part in frequent reoccurring proficiency training, OJT and maintains required certifications. Performs other duties as assigned. <p>The Non-Destruction Inspection Technician (NDI) II inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis.</p><p>• Determine test method and prepare fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection.</p><p>• Interpret nondestructive inspection test results and provide information about defects to repair center.</p><p>• Analyze wear metal content reports on engine lubricating oil and other fluids and recommend corrective action.</p><p>• Establish radiation areas for radiographic operations.</p><p>• Compute and monitor personal exposure areas for radiographic operations, and monitor personnel exposure data.</p><p>• Perform nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems.</p><p>• Detect flaws such as cracks, delamination s, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrate testing, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment.</p><p>• Determine metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors.</p><p>• Operate, maintain, and inspect nondestructive equipment.</p><p>• Perform operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools.</p><p>• Ensure lock out and tag out procedures are accomplished prior to maintenance on equipment.</p><p>• Perform silver recovery functions.</p><p>• Handle and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.</p><p>• Perform other qualified duties as assigned.</p><p>Knowledge & Skills</p><p>• Previous experience in the maintenance, modification and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components (UH60, AH64, CH47).</p><p>• Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document.</p><p>• Thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method in which they are certified.</p><p>• Capable of providing the necessary guidance and supervision to trainers and Level I personnel in the technique/method in which they are certified.</p><p>• Familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the employer.</p><p>• Capable of developing written instructions from approved general procedures. <p>This position may be located in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to CENTCOM, EUCOM, and AFRICOM for extended periods. <p> The Consultant will provide time-bound specialized technical expertise to support the implementation of specific Intelligence-Led Policing (ILP) capacity-building activities under the project Supporting Community Engagement and Policing in Iraq Phase II , led by the Community Engagement and Policing (CEP) unit of IOM Iraq. The objective of this project is to strengthen public trust and confidence in Iraq s security institutions by enhancing accountable, inclusive, and community-responsive policing practices in areas of return and border regions. The project focuses on two primary pillars: i) increase Iraq s security agencies legitimacy and accountability in areas of return and border areas through an increased professionalization of police and border guards and mainstream of CEP approaches across different Directorates within the MoI; and ii) strengthen the CP community outreach, especially amongst women, through the CP Women Empowerment and Protection (WEP) Action Plan, to ensure rights-based stabilization interventions that respond to the needs of communities.
