<p><h4>Job description</h4> <p>The UH-60 aircraft mechanic AM-II performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.</p> <p>Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.<br> Service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems.<br> Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.<br> Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.<br> Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.<br> Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools, and aircraft ground support equipment.<br> Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft technical manuals, maintenance information and action messages, and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.<br> Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.<br> Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and use required expertise in restoring equipment condition and/or operation.<br> Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.<br> Perform other duties as requested.</p> <h4>Minimum requirements</h4> <p>High school diploma or equivalent required.<br> Three (3) or more years aviation maintenance experience within the past five (5) years on the (MDS)-UH60.<br> OR FAA A&P license AND two (2) years of aviation maintenance experience within the past five (5) years on the (MDS)-UH60.<br> U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired; Assigns work to and oversees work being accomplished by Pest Controllers. Assures safety practices are followed. Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: residential, commercial, and industrial pest management services, and the safe and efficient operation of industry particular equipment for LOGCAP V AOR. Must be knowledgeable of laws governing the application of controlled and non-controlled pesticides and herbicides. Coordinates work/inspections with facility managers/occupants. Researches materials, and prepares necessary documents. Responds to emergency service calls during regular hours or after-duty on-call hours. Qualifications + Qualifications: + Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. + Must be a U.S. Citizen + Must have vast knowledge and background in Integrated Pest Management techniques and implementation. + Experience: + Must have at least 5 years’ experience in Pest Management supervisor capacity + Hazardous Materials experience is a plus + Licenses/Certifications: + Must obtain respiratory program certification within the 90-day probationary period and annually thereafter. At a minimum, must have either a commercial/non-commercial or Department of Defense certified applicator license. Primary certification must be for Industrial, Institutional, and Household Pest Control. Other certifications can come from the following (listed in the preferred order): Ornamental and Turf Pest Control, Wood-Destroying Organisms Pest Control, Aquatic Pest Control, Public Health Pest Control: GROUND, and Right-of-Way Pest Control. + Skills: + Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written. + Excellent organizational and planning skills. + Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of workers and external high-ranking officials. + Must be self-motivated to complete job requirements without constant supervision. + Demonstrate leadership qualities. + Working Conditions: + Work is generally in an office environment. However, duties will involve work in the outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms, and high temperatures – up to 130 degrees in the summer months. Potential exposure to chemical or biological agents could exist. + Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). + Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. + Physical Requirements: + Light work.
