<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <span>Job Description: Senior Maintenance Technician – Water Cup Production Line Department: Engineering and Maintenance Industry: Packaged Water / Water Cup Manufacturing Employment Type: Full-time Number of Vacancies: 2 Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor Supervisory Responsibility: Shift maintenance team when assigned Preferred Nationality: Indian/Iranian Job Purpose Provide senior-level, hands-on maintenance support for high-speed thermoforming/Form-Fill-Seal water cup production lines.<br> The Senior Maintenance Technician will lead shift maintenance work, diagnose complex faults, perform precision adjustments, and support preventive and major maintenance activities.<br> Key Responsibilities Implement daily, weekly, monthly, and shutdown maintenance plans.<br> Lead technicians during scheduled maintenance and production-line breakdowns.<br> Diagnose complex mechanical faults and production-related machine problems.<br> Perform machine setup, changeovers, adjustment, alignment, and synchronization.<br> Inspect machine condition and identify developing faults before failure occurs.<br> Carry out preventive, corrective, and major maintenance activities.<br> Escalate recurring faults and support root-cause analysis.<br> Record completed work, findings, parts used, and follow-up actions.<br> Identify future maintenance requirements and critical spare-parts needs.<br> Monitor recurring component failures and recommend technical improvements.<br> Assist with installation, commissioning, and overhaul work when required.<br> Train mechanical technicians and selected production operators.<br> Coordinate with production personnel during adjustment and test runs.<br> Assume responsibility for the maintenance team when the supervisor is unavailable.<br> Follow food-safety, personal-safety, lockout/tagout, and housekeeping requirements.<br> Required Technical Experience Candidates must have practical experience across the complete thermoforming/FFS water cup process: Film feeding, tracking, tensioning, and alignment Heating-zone inspection and adjustment Thermoforming stations, molds, vacuum, and cooling Filling systems, pumps, valves, nozzles, and volume adjustment Lid-film feeding, tracking, and tension control Heat-sealing temperature, pressure, timing, and alignment Cutting, punching, and cup-discharge mechanisms Pneumatic cylinders, solenoid valves, regulators, and air systems Bearings, chains, sprockets, timing belts, shafts, and gearboxes Linear guides, conveyors, lubrication systems, and mechanical alignment Candidates must be able to troubleshoot: Poor or incomplete cup forming Film tracking and alignment problems Water leakage and inaccurate filling volume Weak, incomplete, or uneven sealing Cutting and punching defects Mechanical timing and synchronization problems Abnormal vibration, noise, and overheating Repeated stoppages and intermittent machine faults Experience with Thermonox, Beta-Pak, or technically similar high-speed machines is strongly preferred.<br> Required Qualifications Technical diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.<br> Minimum 5–7 years of direct experience on thermoforming/FFS cup production machines.<br> Ability to lead maintenance work during shifts and breakdowns.<br> Strong practical knowledge of precision fitting, alignment, and adjustment.<br> Ability to interpret machine manuals, drawings, and spare-parts diagrams.<br> Basic ability to prepare maintenance records and technical reports.<br> Ability to train and guide junior technicians.<br> Willingness to work shifts and respond to urgent breakdowns.<br> Critical Selection Requirement Applicants must have direct experience maintaining machines that form, fill, and seal plastic water cups.<br> Experience limited to bottled-water lines, RO systems, vehicles, buildings, utilities, or general factory maintenance does not meet the position’s core requirement.<br></span> </div>

The consultant will provide targeted technical expertise, support the design and initial implementation of conservation agriculture interventions, deliver capacity-building and training, and ensure the technical quality of outputs.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;The consultancy is required due to the need for specialized technical expertise in conservation agriculture and zero tillage systems, which is not available within the current project team. The consultant will provide time-bound technical support for the design, piloting, implementation, and capacity-building activities related to the specific conservation agriculture intervention.</p><br><p><strong>Project Context and Scope</strong></p><br><p>The&nbsp;Consultant&nbsp;will be supporting Conservation Agriculture activities within IOM Iraq’s Climate Programme. The consultant will provide targeted technical expertise, support the design and initial implementation of conservation agriculture interventions, deliver capacity-building and training, and ensure the technical quality of outputs.&nbsp;The project aims to enhance climate resilience, improve soil health, and promote sustainable agricultural practices in the Qushtapa sub-district, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The intervention is part of a broader Ecosystem-Based Adaptation (EbA) approach to address water scarcity, land degradation, and pressures on local livelihoods.</p><br><p>As part of this effort, the project will pilot zero tillage practices on selected agricultural lands. Approximately 3–4 plots (each 3–5 Iraqi dunams) will be identified in collaboration with local farmers, who will voluntarily allocate portions of their land for demonstration purposes.</p><br><p>The selected consultant will provide specialized technical support for the design, pilot implementation, and capacity-building activities related to zero tillage practices in the targeted area. The assignment is limited to the implementation period of this specific pilot intervention.</p><br><strong>Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing</strong><br><p>Under the general guidance of the Chief of Mission, the overall supervision of the Head of Division and the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator and the technical guidance of the relevant programme unit.</p><br><p><strong>The consultancy is open to national consultants and will be primarily remote.
