<p>The primary responsibility of the Mechanic Steam and Gas - is to safely accomplish the installation, maintenance and repair of the heavy rotating machinery used mainly in power generation applications. Turbine Mechanics work closely with Supervisors, EHS personnel, and the Operations Department to achieve these goals. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization s core values.</p><p>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures.</li><li>Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in industrial establishments.</li><li>Dismantle and assemble machinery and equipment using a variety of hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools.</li><li>Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on power tools, hand tools and training equipment.</li><li>Move machinery and equipment using hoists, cranes, chain falls and trucks.</li><li>Align machinery and equipment using hoists, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs, dial indicators and/or laser alignment equipment.</li><li>Perform machining and welding operations for making various parts for lab and shop training equipment</li><li>Perform material and machine inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenches.</li><li>Responsible for shipping and receiving all major pieces for T&amp;DC, plus all shipping, receiving, inventory, and control of tools, equipment and supplies</li><li>Determine equipment specifications and prepare parts lists for purchasing, consisting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic devices as needed to complete assigned projects.</li><li>Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies.</li><li>Availability to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time</li><li>Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>Degree or associate degree in Technical Field, Gas Turbine Systems Technician preferred</li><li>Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines.</li><li>Must have experience performing equipment alignments using either laser or traditional methods.</li><li>Must have Driver s License</li><li>Must possess minimum required hand tools.</li></ul><p>Desired Characteristics:</p><ul><li>Qualified level. <p><h4>Essential responsibilities:</h4> <p>The avionics technician performs aircraft maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification and replacement of aircraft electrical/avionics systems and components. Applies technical knowledge and skills to troubleshoot electrical/avionics discrepancies.</p> <ul> <li>Possess in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment. Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems.</li> <li>Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft electrical/avionics systems.</li> <li>Performs the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, modification and rewiring as required of complex avionics/electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies and modifications.</li> <li>Use schematic diagrams, blueprint drawings, maintenance manuals and factory publications to operate, modify, test and repair aircraft electrical/avionics systems.</li> <li>Utilize test equipment to include but not limited to digital volt/amp meter, transponder ramp tester, fuel quantity tester, ITT calibration test set, and other test equipment required in the troubleshooting, modification, and repair of avionics/electrical systems.</li> <li>Order parts and materials.</li> <li>Obtain and maintain qualification as a plane captain and any associated licenses/qualifications necessary to perform the duties of an OMAT2.</li> <li>Operate ground support equipment.</li> <li>Identify and treat avionics/electrical corrosion.</li> <li>Perform aircraft jacking and hoisting as required.</li> <li>Perform certification and re-certification of altimeter systems.</li> <li>Perform calibration of directional guidance systems.</li> <li>Required to perform collateral duty inspections.</li> <li>Must obtain and keep current turn qualification.</li> <li>Maintain cleanliness of the work center.</li> <li>Comply with foreign object damage (FOD), egress familiarization, and hazardous waste and tool control programs.</li> <li>Comply with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.</li> <li>Assist as directed to ensure safety, security and preservation of government/company owned equipment.</li> <li>Present a courteous and professional demeanor when dealing with customers.</li> <li>Furnish and maintain own hand tools.</li> <li>Operate portable firefighting equipment.</li> <li>Operate aircraft ground servicing equipment including vehicles, tugs, tractors, servicing carts, aircraft jacks and hoists, test equipment, hand tools, power tools.</li> <li>Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.</li> </ul> <h4>Minimum qualifications:</h4> <ul> <li>Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces aircraft avionics school or other schools with equivalent curriculum or three (3) years of on-the-job training and/or experience working with similar avionics systems and components is required.</li> <li>Graduation from high school or GED required.</li> <li>Must be able to meet any government/company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.</li> <li>Must have an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.</li> <li>Must have three (3) years’ experience in T6 aircraft electrical/avionics maintenance including avionics corrosion detection, treatment and prevention, performing maintenance on avionics and/or electrical systems, utilizing tools, blueprints, drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and normal safety requirements.</li> <li>Demonstrate a basic knowledge of aircraft systems and nomenclature.</li> <li>Possess working knowledge and skill in the use of basic tools and test equipment.</li> <li>Must be familiar with the operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems.</li> <li>Possess a working knowledge of the detection, prevention, and treatment of corrosion.</li> <li>Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate the English language and follow verbal and written instruction.</li> <li>Must obtain and keep current turn qualification.</li> </ul></p><p></p>
